Yeah, weird.  Creanesque almost in the mannerisms.  Makes you wonder if Crean did this how the posters here might react as they did in the other thread.  Wardle = good.  Crean = evil.   Never changes.

I wouldn't say it's that simple, though of course some would boil it down that way. Valentin is a public figure who chooses to be part of a publicized program. The kid at Indiana wasn't looking for publicity.

Again, I'm not chastising what Crean did, but I hope that story doesn't come out unless the kid wants it. Looking at both stories, Valentin was excited to talk about his story and the struggles he's had to overcome to get where he is. The kid at I4 sounds like his problems are much deeper and not something he was trying to draw attention to.

There are comparisons, but trying to say they're apples to apples isn't accurate.

I agree that the two situations differ, but you're kidding yourself if you think Crean wouldn't get blasted as a publicity whore if he did the exact same thing Wardle did.

My old favorite scoop posts used to be the people who came on here after a loss to bash the people who complain about losses before the complainers had even posted anything.

I think my new favorite scoop posts are the people who bash the Crean bashers even before the Crean bashers say anything on individual threads, ala Hoopaloop on this thread.

There was plenty of commentary by bashers on this very subject, just in another thread.

The recent conference shifting is just one of many reasons Crean left Marquette.  He knew how unstable this house of cards was.  Buzz will be next, even though he said he would stay as long at Marquette would have him.
