MU's Blue fined $366 for disorderly conduct

Vander Blue, a member of the Marquette University basketball team, entered a plea of no contest to a municipal citation of disorderly conduct stemming from an incident last October outside a campus area restaurant.

Strange they didn't wait a couple extra days to announce this over the weekend.

Why not just do this back in October and avoid the negative ongoing press?

So they're planning on going to trial until the day it's leaked that there are likely to be no charges filed in the sexual assault case?  I'd imagine the two are related in some way.  Maybe he can have one "guilty", but two would have been too much for Buzz.

GGGG

The incidents aren't related.  But the fact that they are all being resolved the week before Memorial Day are likely related.

My guess is something to do with summer school starting soon, needed to come to resolution on the incidents.

Yeah, when I get a public intoxication ticket in college, I couldn't go to my PHIL 50 class until it was settled.

That's one costly late-night burrito run.

Especially since he probably didn't get his money's worth.

What is Derrick Wendler's opinion on all of this?

I saw him weeping at Saint Joan of Arc.

What a coincidence!  I got my public intoxication ticket in  Philo 50 class.  Mr. Murphy, the professor, was cited, as well.  I'm pretty sure his contract wasn't renewed the following year.

In CFB, increased number of player arrests correlates with more wins.    Not sure if it plays that way in CBB, hope so.

He was passing around booze??  Your class should've had an "O Captain, My Captain" moment.

Is that the kid that called him Vander Orange??

Did Buzz ever discipline him over this?  Now that he pleaded no contest, will he discipline him?

He was a student interviewed on the street by WISN(?) about the sexual assault allegations.

From the article ...

Mary Pat Pfeil, a Marquette spokeswoman, said the incident was dealt with through the school's student conduct system and the basketball program.

"The coach (Buzz Williams) has expressed his disappointment to the player and emphasized that he expects players to maintain a high standard of conduct, reflecting Marquette's values," Pfeil said.

---

Sorry this says nothing.  Or worse, it says Buzz did not discipline Blue.

Happy?
