Article in today's Boston Globe discussing BE growth. They think UCF is the next likely candidate since Nova put the foorball upgrade on the back burner. Calls a breakout of the basketball-only schools a "last resort"
(but they did mention the possibility).

GGGG

I would agree with that. Ironic that it came from boston.

Well, at least the student athletes can go visit Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy on road trips.

Has BC ever reconsidered its ACC move, and put feelers to come to BE?
It has always seemed BC is an odd ball out of that conference.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Since leaving the BE, BC is less relevant in its own hometown ... the lack of natural rivals, of meaningful alumni bases and tradition has really hurt BC's profile in Boston

Villacats

We got played.

If there ever was an honest offer for Nova to join the football conference on the table, it got yanked once it served its purpose of getting the Catholic schools to vote for Texas Christian.

I wish they could have told us privately last November rather than wait to embarrass us in public at the last minute.

MU Fan in Connecticut

Why can't they play where UPenn or Temple plays?

GGGG

Where Penn plays is too small. Temple plays in lincoln field in front of sparse crowds. It might not even be available. Also I have never heard os two D1 schools sharing a stadium before.

UCLA and USC did it for decades at the Los Angeles Colosseum.  That ended in 1982, but prior to that both schools shared the same stadium.

I remembered that as soon as I hit send.  I just doubt something like that is really feasible today.

You may have been played. The BE will implode, it is just a matter of time. football is going to move on, the conference is way to big. It reminds me of the old 16 team WAC, which eventually collapsed.
