When all of you fret and pull your hair over the thought of Buzz leaving for Oklahoma, or Arkansas or Georgia Tech or wherever, you are essentially admitting that you think the head coaching job at those schools are more attractive than the one at Marquette. In other words, you don't hold Marquette in the same esteem.

As a proud alum of my beloved Marquette, I'm sick of it. Buzz is lucky to be the head coach at Marquette. He says so himself. There are only a handful of jobs in the country that are better than Marquette. Indiana may be one of them and that's what it took to get the prior coach to leave.

Ask Kevin O'Neill if the grass is always greener on the other side. Marquette is a great job. Tons of money, history of success, great facilities, Big East, massive alumni support, community support, university support, near Great Lakes region recruiting, etc. Buzz isn't leaving all of that for some southern land grant school.

Also when KO left, Marquette didn't have the facilities it has now, we weren't in the Big East, and we hadn't been to six straight NCAAs.

That's not necessarily true.
What it admits is that a Texas guy, with a wife from Texas, who attended school in Oklahoma, has strong professional ties to Texas and has spent the majority of his professional career in that part of the country might find the opportunity to coach closer to home as very appealing.
