The court of public opinion in Wisconsin and on other message boards is that the Big East will only get 8?

8?  LOL

Links...I need some laughter today.

The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

I'd be very concerned about Wisconsin's future if that is the consensus.

MU is a lock.  Villanova may be on the bubble..which would put Big East at 10 teams

You must be reading Badger boards.  Get a grip.

2. The Gym.                      8. Park Avenue.
3. The Ardmore.                 9. Mugrack.
4. O'Donohues.                 10. Lighthouse.
5. O'Pagets.
6. Hagerty's.

No the ESPN Message board which is usually takes a good temperature of what people really think (Not neccesarily right though)
The Espn  message board says that Villanova should not get in, Marquette should not get in cause they got blown out last night, and Cincinnati should not get in for the same reason Marquette didnt.

Apparently that blow out might cost us a bid?

Idiotic.  Wonder if there is any coincidence in 2 teams that were playing their 3rd game in 3 nights, matched up against an opponent who hadn't played in 6 days - as to why both teams were blown out by margins far greater than any regular season defeat?

I understand that most are delusional on that board but the court of public opinion is still out on us.

The same poster said that Penn State is in and Illinois and Michigan State are locks

We got blown out last year against Georgetown and still got a bid. Also, ESPN boards are filled with people that don't really know much to be honest. At least some of the ones I've read. They basically like to shout a lot and say how bad their rivals are. If the Big East gets less than 10 (and I the only way they get 10 is if some crazy stuff happens in remaining tourneys and Nova gets left out), the outcry to the SJU/Rutgers game would look tame compared to what will happen. Especially if some of these bubble ACC and Big 10/11/12 teams get in.

Really - not hard to see this is a Big Ten Lover / Big East basher - ignoring then would be the best advice...

Typical myopic Wisconsin/Big 1? BS/Bias.   Try to find one bracket not viewed through bucky glasses that says the same thing.    Fret not.

I believe Real time RPI has us out in bracket matrix.

I dont understand why Illinois and MIchigan state are locks but we arent?

babytownfrolics

ESPN message boards, or the consensus of bracket experts from all over the country?  I'll trust the latter.

If the tourney was only about 56 teams like that guy thinks it is, then we may be worried. I see only one person really thinking in that thread that we are out. He has UWM and Coastal Carolina in as at-larges. I'm not worried at all.

DCWarriors04

LOL...if Illinois and Michigan St are locks then I feel fine. Relax, we are a lock. We've got a big road victory over UConn and a key win Wednesday night over Huggy Bear and WVU.

Yeah there are people out there that don't want 11 BEast teams in the tourney but the bubble is horribly weak this year and there are a ton of teams that in normal years wouldn't even be considered first 4 in or first 4 out.

Only way I'd be worried come Sunday evening is if every major conference tournament had underdogs playing in the semi-finals and finals.

that being said...Relax

The court of public opinion

To quote the late, great George Carlin, "F*** the public; the public sucks."

Hey, a week ago, I thought we were really shaky.  No way now--we are in no sweat.  Even 'Nova with their shaky finish should get in, their numbers/resume are WAY better than the "public" thinks.

madtownwarrior

wow, you read that and took that discussions as expert opinion or national consensus?

You want the consensus of public opinion (those who actually watch the games and track this stuff).  Take a look at the Bracket Project's bracket matrix

http://bracketproject.50webs.com/matrix.htm

MU is in 82 of 84 brackets, and is a lock or safely in (5+ spots) in all the major brackets (Lunardi, Jerry Palm, Dance Card, CtD, etc.).  The two brackets we are not in include a Bleacher Report 'blogger' and some other blog.

bilsu

I always worried that the committee will actually forget about a team. Like the brackets come out and North Carolina is left out, because everyone on the committee thought they had out them in and did not verify it.

So you are never a lock.

I am not sure the Big East gets 11 teams, but I see Villanova being left out before MU.

The Big East has gotten 8 in when the tournament was 65 teams. When they expanded it to 68 I do not think they were envisioning giving the extra three bids to one conference and I think they will be reluctant to do that. To me three teams are not locks. Villanova, Georgetown and MU. They will not leave out all three, but I think is it realistic to expect all three to get in. My prediction is that all three are in, but Villanova and Georgetwon will be in the play in games on Tuesday.

Mr. Nielsen

11 Big East schools are in, with Nova not MU as the 11th team.
