Mich 70 - MSU 63

Mich State 17-13, (9-9).  They need a miracle in the B10 Tourney

Good for MU as they are a bubble team now looking like they are out.

We've been burned by such presumptions in the past. The committee loves MSU and Izzo. I won't believe it till their name is not mentioned next Sunday night.

brewcity77

Don't be so sure. Sparty was probably around the 10-11 line before that game. They're still likely squarely on the bubble, I'd guess still on the inside. We aren't the only team that could benefit from a soft bubble.

denverMU

Two points, 1. That puts UM on the bubble with us and 2. I still hear pundits saying with Izzo MSU always does well in the tourney.  We still need to win today to be safe.

I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

If it comes down to us and Michigan State vying for the final spot. Izzo will get it.

1)  That helps UM
2)  MSU is right where we are....so if they are NIT bound, as you say, then why are we not in the same shape?

As of this very second, their RPI is 49 with a SOS of 7th in the nation.

MU is 62 RPI with a SOS of 26th

So MSU has played a tougher schedule, has a better RPI.  Wins over NCAA teams Wisconsin, Washington, Illinois....no bad losses....sound familiar?

Why are you using one standard for MU and getting a result but using that same standard for another team provides you with a different result?

I don't disagree that MSU is on the bubble...so is MU.  That's the point.  You can't have it both ways

Always have to find a way to bash MU ....

75 sites that and you go right to the site that presents MU is the worst possible light.  And save the "Warren Nolan has a great record and been a buddy of mine for 20 years."  Nolan is an outlier.

Before today ....

This will all change again in about two hours, so let's beat SH first or the rest may not matter.

I think some might suggest that a 20-point defeat at the hands of the #184 team in the RPI (Iowa) qualifies as a bad loss for Sparty.
Also, it might not help that they're a sub-.500 team since Jan. 1.
They're still on the bubble, but if I had to swap resumes, I'd take MU's over theirs right now.
Of course, I might want to change that in about three hours.

MSU has 1 win against top 25 teams, Marquette has 4.  How's that for a standard?

No bad losses? Are you on drugs? Im pretty sure getting pounded by Iowa was a terrible loss. Michigan at home is nto a good loss. Penn State isnt either.

Now their wins? Yeah, get giddy over beating bubble teams Washington and splitting with Illinois. Great wins.

My bad, forgot that loss to Iowa (that team that beat #6 Purdue today) ....maybe we can match that bad loss with our play against Seton Hall today....based on the first half, we're on our way

with how MU is playing - who cares if they make the NCAA?

The way we look tonight, any one of 70 teams could end our season.
