I dont know about anyone else but I am terrified of this game against Hall. If we lose we fall to 18-13 and I am not too sure that gets us in. Hall handled St. Johns today, only lost to cuse by 5 at home, lost to Uconn by 2 at home, and nova by 3. I have a bad feeling about saturday

Absolutely.  Their Senior day, road game for us, they have bitten some teams this year already....ton of pressure on us, no pressure on them.  Every reason to be worried.

MUBalla23

seriously, put it to rest.  They put up a once in a lifetime shooting performance.

Masterr73

BE teams have had trouble there all year

They also beat Syracuse by more than 20.

All I can say is strap on your drinking cap and just hope for the best.  MU is as jekyll and hyde as they come this year.

im sure buzz will make adjustments.... oh wait

I actually feel better about our chances after SH had an emotional hard fought victory over a cross-town rival only two days before playing us.

They beat Alabama...a bubble team
They beat Syracuse...a NCAA team

They have been in games against Xavier (lost by 5), Temple (Lost by 6), Clemson (lost in OT), Georgetown, UCONN (lost by 2), Nova (lost by 3), etc....not a team to take lightly.

MUfan12

Really, really hoping for a letdown from them.

esotericmindguy

They're solid, but my guess is they won't go 12-18 from 3 and shoot 65% from the floor. Talk about Adjustments, Lavin kept playing that awful zone against them and allowed wide open 3s all night.

Yeah, sometimes you have to wonder if some of these coaches are actually watching the game

Don't you get the sense sometimes that they work so hard on a gameplan and prep work that they are going to stick to that gameplan to the very end?  That's my view.

I agree. Sometimes not thinking out of the box. Sometimes I think it doesnt help to help 4 assistants swarming around also. Nothing more comical than when a time out is called and the coach and a bunch of assistants huddle around for 95 percent of the time out to come up with a plan before finally turning and talking to the team.

esotericmindguy

I guess, I suppose he thought a team shooting 27% from 3 in conference would eventually start to miss but they didn't. St. Johns has become my second favorite team in conference, love the way they play....the only thing they are missing is a Diebler or knowles to knock down 3s.

willie warrior

I did predict 9-9 with a loss to Seton hall three weeks ago.

Not a very good week for Buzz and the Warriors. Lose to Cincy at home, lose out on Tokoto, and then lose at Seton Hall. Not saying I want it to happen, but it sure looks that way. Oh well, there is always next year--in Buzz we trust.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

mu_eyeballs

"New York and New Jersey. ... I cross that bridge every day," Willard said. "Try crossing that bridge and you'll get a little chippy too."

This was SH superbowl...they have been hearing about St. Johns all year and were sick of it...I am not saying that I am not nervous...MU has shown that they can loose to anybody on any given night...or at least almost lose(See south florda).  But MU has shown that Senior night is not magical...and there is no way SH gets up nearly as much for Saturday as they did for St. John's last night.

reinko

FWIW, Seton Hall spring break starts on the end of classes today.  Can't hurt I guess.

NavinRJohnson

Applying similar logic to some of that on display here, there is no way Cincinnati was going to beat MU the other night. Every game is different.

ecompt

If Jae doesn't bounce back and have a monster game, I fear we will have a very tough time. And if the Hall puts on any kind of press, it's even tougher. On paper I say we lose by 3.

Sounds like you are describing our Warriors.

Seton Hall's a funny kind of team. Their SOS is 8, 2 wins v top 50 opponents, only 2 losses v 101+ opponents...if they weren't so bad, you'd think they were kind of good. My guess is that if they were in almost any other conference in the country, they'd be an NCAA team. But 11 losses v top 50 and 15 v top 100 RPI has them well out of NCAA consideration. Had they gone with a weaker non-conference SOS and maybe earned one more Big East win, they might be playing for an NCAA berth if they could beat us on Saturday. 8-10 in the Big East this year, especially with the rest of their credentials, would probably be good enough.

muwarrior69

Well, worried or not; I'll be at the game cheering them on.

NCAARules

1. I worry about every Big East game. Top-to-bottom, everyone can win. Not one time have I felt like MU had a game won before it was played. That being said, here are a few other thoughts...

2. Someone would have to check the stats, but my impression is that every once in a while, Seton Hall gets really hot from 3 PT land. But, my impression is also that it doesn't ever happen in consecutive games. I am hopeful this is the case.

3. I saw Rosiak's article that went up talking about the milestone of the 10th conference win. I like how important this game is, and how important the guys on the team think it is.

4. The only other back-to-the-wall game that I think MU has had was @UCONN. We came out of there with a W. Again, hoping that is a sign of things to come.
