DJO's Pump Fake (not the user)

There were a few instances last night where DJO got his man in the air on his pump fake....

WHY DOES HE NOT DRAW THE FOUL AND GO TO THE LINE FOR 2 (MOST OF THE TIME 3!) FREE THROWS!?!?!?

I'm not a huge #s guy when I coach (or play) but when a team is down, I try to look at it as "get 1 pt back per minute". So if DJO did that, he would have the opportunity to score WITHOUT THE CLOCK TICKING. Especially being down 16pts with 14 minutes to go or so.

I would have liked to see him do that. He had chances. Not wanting it to become part of the offense...but hopefully it is addressed in their film sessions before Sunday.

Because they don't practice free throws. Duh! He'd rather take his chances from the field.

It's our understanding that not only does Buzz not have the team practice free throws but he also de-emphasizes shooting.    For example, take a look at Vander Blue's lack of offensive development!

I'll be interested to see what he does next game.  This was extremely noticeable in a game at the start of the BEAST schedule, and the next game you could tell he had been coached/versed to draw the foul.  He's now gone away from it again, and I'd bet we see a focus put back on it again in the next game or two...or so I hope.

Good question.  I'd say it's indecisiveness on his part, and he was indecisive ALL night last night, (along with Buycks).  Usually when you pump fake you have an idea of what you're going to do next assuming the defender leaves his feet.  Each time DJO pump faked and got the defender off the floor, he looked as if he had no idea what to do next.

Testify my Brother

I never have, nor will I ever use teal. I believe strongly that if you cannot write your sarcasm well enough for people to get it, or if you aren't able to pick up on a well written piece of sarcasm, you are deserving of whatever scorn or criticism come your way as a result.  The use of teal makes people lazy, and just causes more confusion.
