I mean I don't know how they couldn't have. Hell, I still haven't gotten over the Louisville collapse.

This does not qualify as a heartbreaking loss. not even close. we got whipped down the stretch.

Not saying I agree with you, but if you are right about that, wow that would be sad.  What a bunch of babies, especially after everything Buzz preaches about toughness and moving on to the next one and playing with an chip on our shoulder.  This team just needs to man the eff up....

Buzz can say whatever he wants about toughness but this team is NOT tough.... tough teams finish down the stretch, or at bare minimum don't fold up and give games away.  Tough teams dive on the floor for loose balls.... I don't think this happened once tonight..... etc etc etc

Exactly.  It seemed like they just expected uconn to roll over and go away once they got up by 5 on em, and once uconn came back they couldn't believe it and had absolutely no response whatsoever other than to simply fold and choke the game away, even in front of their home crowd.

Also, if this team IS still hungover from the Louisville game (I don't personally think they are, but some people do) well then they have MAJOR problems that are not going to be cured any time soon, the season is over, and I am one incredibly disappointed Marquette fan, especially after everything Buzz constantly preaches about toughness and character.

It doesn't qualify because I expected this to happen right when we lost our five pt lead, that's sad, and that's why most Marquette fans are just mad rather than heartbroken.

Your right about the loose balls.  UConn got them all in the first half.  We have a mentality that we are just going to outscore everyone, and not have to bear down and scrap on defense.  I think it was Jimmy who stepped in and took a charging call tonight.  When was the last charging call we took in a game before this one?  It's been a while.  Last year, everyone stepped up and played defense, and was willing to do the dirty work.

We got whipped down the stretch by Louisville as well. I'm sure the odds of losing the Louisville game were probably less than 1%, but up 5 with 7 to play at home? Gotta be at least 85-90% odds that you win that game. Any time you have those kinds of odds, it's pretty damn heartbreaking.
