Okay, so we already peed away all our chances at a quality non-conference win. Duke, Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, all losses, all evidence that will be stacked against us come Selection Sunday. Now, for the second time in about a week, we have tossed away a double-digit second half lead on the road against a top 20 team. My question is this...will we get a quality road win this year?

We still have a few chances:

Feb. 2 @ Villanova
Feb. 13 @ Georgetown
Feb. 24 @ Connecticut

I think Georgetown looks most ripe for the picking, but who knows if they'll even be a top 25 team by then. Though they are currently projected to finish with the 10th best RPI even if they only go 9-9 in the Big East, so it'd still probably be a quality road win come March. But will we get any of these? And more important, if we don't, how much does it hurt our resume when we haven't won any quality non-conference or road games all season long?

It hurts and if I had to predict right now we will not win one on the road.

We cannot handle it on the road, unless we are playing UWM next door to our place.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Let's face it, they haven't shown that they can do it so far. Looks like kind of a "bridge" year.

Even then (UWM) we have to hang on for our dear lives.

I'm going to say MU gets a win at Georgetown.

I disagree.

Four road games: one below our tier; one above our tier; two in our tier. The one below they controlled from tip to buzzer. The one above they rightfully lost. The two in our tier they played very well for 55 of the 80 minutes.

Overall, I don't think the kids have been that bad on the road. They're not getting crap tossed every time like Notre Dame away from home. I understand all we can focus on is the blown leads but it takes talent, guts, and execution to get those leads.

It seems you need some great performances to beat MU on the road: Taylor, Gibbs, Knowles, and Hansbrough.

We have to beat Georgetown, because that is the only one of the three we're fighting against for an NCAA bid.

I think five teams are likely in:  Pitt, Syr, ND, VU and UConn.
Five have no shot:  DePaul, PC, SHU, RU, and USF.

Our win over ND will be discounted because they were without Scott.

Key to a bid are:
a) Must wins:  beating all games against the 5 in the cellar (PC, Seton Hall x2, South Florida)
b) Must wins:  winning all remaining games against the middle 6 (Georgetown, Cincy, St. Johns)
c) Nice wins:  UConn x2, Syracuse, Villanova

Winning the "must wins" gets us to 11, and probably a top 8 finish.

An win against0 UConn, VIllanova or Syracuse would be nice--but we don't have the body of work to convince anyone it wasn't just an upset--especially if we give it back by losing to Georgetown, Cincy or St. Johns.

Do we play Seton Hall twice? I thouht we played DePaul twice.

We could only wish for such a gift from the scheduling gods.  South Florida, West Virginia and Cincinnati won the Double Demon lottery.

We play Seton Hall at home on Feb. 19, and on the road in our final regular season game on 3/9.

Quality road win is what the Packers accomplished today.
