All I know is that they beat a highly ranked West Virginia team last week by 15 or something.

They were picked to finish 10th in the Big East but have exceeded expectations so far.  With 11 regular season games to go, they are at 15-3 and have equaled their win total during the regular season for 2009-10.  They were 12-1 in non-conference play with their only loss coming by 2 points at Creighton - that is their only bad loss so far.  They started out BE play with a brutal stretch facing the teams picked to finish 1-4 in the conference - at UCONN, vs Notre Dame, at Georgetown and vs West Virginia (all nationally ranked too).  They lost the first two but then picked up a nice double OT win at Georgetown and their signature win of the season so far over West Virginia a week ago - they were 16-0 and ranked 6th in the nation coming into that game.  On paper, their toughest opponents left are pretty much at home with the exception of the game at DePaul - it is really hard to win down there.  The Women play everyone once and have one home and away opponent - DePaul is their home and away opponent.

This is the first year since 2007 that they have a good shot at making the NCAA Tournament.  They rely heavily on their 5 seniors with 3 starting and the other 2 getting good time off the bench.  The other two starters are a freshman and sophomore and the other bench player who gets regular pt is a frosh.  They generally only go 8 players deep.  If they win Saturday vs Syracuse - a game they should win, they have a good shot at making it into the coaches poll as they are the top team in others receiving votes now.  They haven't been ranked since the 2006-07 season.
