Right back at you, I'm sick of you assuming everything out of MU's camp is sacrosanct.  Funny, it works both ways.  Maybe you are one of those guys that whatever the gov't says, you believe.  Whatever Prof Ph.D said, was gospel.   Sorry, the Jesuit school I attended, Marquette University, taught me to take in ALL the facts and weigh them, not just the ones I wanted to believe in.

I'll admit I don't know what the truth is. Neither do you. I'll further admit in he said/she said situations where the truth cannot be discerned I'm more likely to come down on the side of someone I like and trust over someone I don't know. You think that makes me a knob polisher, I think it makes me a good and loyal friend.

But again, please spare us this illusion that you weighed all the "facts" and came to some sort of a morally and intellectually superior conclusion. You immediately took and vigorously defended the side that reflected most poorly on Buzz strictly on hearsay. That's fine with me, everybody's entitled to their own opinion. But please cut the bs about how much you love the guy. With friends like you....

Isn't this what I said? Fr Davitt taught me to believe in empiricism. You are such a hypocrite. Your wife must be Saint Monica!

As far as the NLI goes, the fact of the matter is the NLI is a joke and one sided. Jay Bee says that's not the case and I think I provided plenty of evidence that shows it is.  If he disagrees, he's free to refute that it's absolutely one sided against the athlete.

I thought you were big into 'those pesky little details'... I would agree it is largely one sided, but continue to say what I initially did - it is not 100% one sided.  In fact, it does in practice offer leverage to kids who sign it.  That is one of the reasons many do recommend kids sign an NLI.

You can cite little blogs and articles with the opinion of people all day long - but, show me where a court has deemed the contract unconscionable.

Who ordered the Code Red?

Great timing PRN.  Who ordered the Codd Red indeed.

We just did a skit at work two weeks ago for an upcoming awards show with a Tom Cruise impersonator, Evan Ferrante.   Who ordered the Code Red was the spoof skit.  What a blast...he's pretty good.  I got to play Colonel Jessup which was a kick in the shorts.  Two of my colleagues played in another one spoofing Oprah.  Fun times.

A good and loyal friend?  You make it sound like you're chums with Buzz.  Please.  I agree, we don't know the entire truth.  But instead of completely DISMISSING one version, or worse...calling them liars...I believe the truth is probably somewhere in between.  The sad part is that you and a few others have COMPLETELY dismissed any version other than that from one source.  Very open minded of you.  You sure you're a MU guy...looks like Ners isn't, I'm beginning to wonder about you.  It's classic watching you call MU84 Joanie Harbaugh which is really one of the lamest things I've ever seen.  Perhaps people should start calling you, Ners, Jay Bee and the Colonel the same?  You know, Corey, Addyson and Zera?  No, actually I would say no, that would be a dick move but the four of you have no problem going in that direction...I'd add Canadian Dimes to the list too.  Looking at his posts over the years ripping on Crean's kids and such....yes, you guys exude class, if only we could be like you.

And sorry, I do like Buzz a great deal.  Just as I've said for years I don't care for TC...you continue to ignore this time and time and time again, too.  It's funny, you're here saying you don't know the truth yet in the very next paragraph you pretend to know what is in someone's heart or how they feel about someone.  Classic.  Is the doctor in again?  What's the hourly rate these days?  In the meantime, don't ever tell me what's in my heart or who I care or don't care for.  If you haven't figured it out yet, I don't care for you...I don't respect liars one bit.  That one you don't have to figure out...as for Buzz, happen to like the young man quite a bit and hope he equals and surpasses what TC did...hell, I hope he surpasses what McGuire did.

When you called me a co**sucker (among other things) I let it go - chalked it up to an angry, childish and an underdeveloped "sense of humor".

But even when I consider the source, I take being called a liar very personally. You owe me an apology.

I trust that your remark rises to the level of what our moderators consider insulting and that they'll address the subject with you.

Then Fr. Davitt didn't get through to you and a few others, since you only seem to want to acknowledge one side.

I sincerely doubt that Fr. Davitt's view of empiricism meant only to go by what was in the newspapers and published.  What I was taught of empiricism was to rely on observations...ALL OBSERVATIONS, evidence, etc.  Not just the ones I want to believe in.  You had made a comment a week ago that since it wasn't in the paper (or something to that effect) that you could only go on the facts that were presented in some kind of official matter.  Davitt would role role in his grave knowing that was the criteria you were using as empirical evidence.

My wife is wonderful, very happily married.  It helps that she's open minded ...that's usually the key.

No, I don't owe you an apology and talk about the height of hypocrisy, you've been lying with your statements for months with this "vast majority" crap among several.  You've been the one lying and hopefully this guy will publish the results any day now to show you.  Then, we'll all be waiting for the apology....and I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it doesn't come from you.

And please, your name calling has been every bit as wonderful.  I give what I get.

You know, MU84, myself, Golden, etc, etc.

Mid-year transfer talks continue... Devoe Joseph at Minnesota thinking of bailing on Tubby and the team.  Maybe we can do a Reggie-for-Devoe trade.

National Champs

Wouldn't we only get him for second semester of next year and then his eligibility is up? If so that would be a poor pickup.

Send him down to New Orleans right now, then have him play in 2011-12 for the full year... wonder if that would work.

Teams were announced on Sunday night, game was played Monday night....less than 24 hours to sell tickets, scout a team, etc.  The NIT is almost always like that for early games especially games played on less than 24 hours notice.  Not surprised at the turnout in that situation at all.

hence... bad turnout :) probably a student section not very excited for mu not being in the big kid tournament either doesn't help.

There was a reason that Crean and Bo Ryan did not go after Maymon.  A reason everyone in the state knew about.  There was a reason why the top player in the state had offers were primarily limited to Green Bay, USC, Iowa State.  I'm sure there is another one in there that I can't remember.

My issue with that recruitment is we lost a year + as a result.  One, it prevented us from going after a kid that would be a sophomore and contributing right now.  Two, it adds another high profile transfer to the list from MU.  Three, it delays bringing in a replacement for more than a year which causes roster gaps further down the line.

We have to be careful and when there were so many red flags that the top two coaches in the state wanted nothing to do with this kid for a reason, we should have stayed away.  It's unfortunate, but that's reality.

My issue with that recruitment is we lost a year + as a result.  One, it prevented us from going after a kid that would be a sophomore and contributing right now.

And the kid that we would have gotten is????

contributing right now

Are you sure?  Since we took Roseboro that year, I guess that you're talking about someone, Buzz decided wasn't as promising as Brett.

Three, it delays bringing in a replacement for more than a year which causes roster gaps further down the line.

Unless, of course, you have quality Junior College recruiting connections and bring in say, a Jae Crowder.

Finally and MOST IMPORTANTLY, without Maymon, do we get Vander?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
