Long time lurker on the boards, but man it is painful to read sometimes. You legit ruin every thread. It's rather sad.

I disagree.  90% of threads that get ruined by this constant fighting is because Ners takes an unprovoked shot at Chico's.
This is not the case here though
Chico's, as someone who believes your take:
I didn't like tom crean as a person but I'm glad he came to MU and think he was a good coach who's legacy shouldn't be reduced to our anger over the fact that he left.
over their take (lenny, wartdrvr & Ners):
Tom crean went away.  He is a traitor and shall never be forgiven. Anyone who recognizes anything other than the blackness in his heart shall feel my wrath.
I've got to say, this one is your fault.  The funny thing is that if you two met in a bar and no one brought up this site you'd probably just sit there and agree 99% of what the other one says.

For some reason people just have to view each other in extremes over the internet.*

*yes, i'm aware of the irony considering my summation of Ner's position.

Thank you Rocky...creating false accounts is way beyond my realm with regard to trying to prove a point.

Phew...so there is a limit...I wasn't sure.

Happy New Year...honestly, I don't know what made you snap the last 48 hours considering the PM's you sent me last week which were generally pretty nice.  Hope today and beyond are better days.

Go Marquette

Appreciate the feedback...you're probably right, we would agree on a number of things.  I do take umbrage when people say I don't like Buzz.  It's just a flat out lie.  Just as when people say I love Crean....neither are correct assertions.  I'm hard on Buzz but I'm hard on my kids and others, too, doesn't mean I don't love them, respect them, like them, etc.

Tennessee is up 72-43 against 21st ranked Memphis. Maymon has 10pts 3rebs    :D

4everwarriors

Both he and Black would look fine in a Warrior uniform. Beats anyone we currently have at the 4 or 5.

Memphis is a perfect example of recruits plus bad coaching means nothing.
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

There was a reason that Crean and Bo Ryan did not go after Maymon.  A reason everyone in the state knew about.  There was a reason why the top player in the state had offers were primarily limited to Green Bay, USC, Iowa State.  I'm sure there is another one in there that I can't remember.

My issue with that recruitment is we lost a year + as a result.  One, it prevented us from going after a kid that would be a sophomore and contributing right now.  Two, it adds another high profile transfer to the list from MU.  Three, it delays bringing in a replacement for more than a year which causes roster gaps further down the line.

We have to be careful and when there were so many red flags that the top two coaches in the state wanted nothing to do with this kid for a reason, we should have stayed away.  It's unfortunate, but that's reality.

nice job kreskin.  i would love to see all your quotes telling us to lay off maymon
when we were recruiting him.  didn't see you jumpin up and down waving the red flags when he was scoring at will in h.s.  if you can show me all your warning signs as we were recruiting him, i'll apologise.  until then chico, you're not even a monday a.m. q-back, maybe a saturday a.m. towel boy pickin up the soap

Recruiting Maymon landed us Blue. Whether you agree with that tactic is another debate. But that's why we recruited Maymon. I didn't like Maymon anyway. He looked lackadasical to me. He'd get a couple rebounds, but he didn't play with the energy of the other guys. I don't care that he's gone and I don't know why it's still being discussed.

I'll bet he wasn't playing the 2, though.   ;)

I wish he were still on our team, I expect him to become a quality big.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

I watched Maymon v. Memphis last night.  He ran the floor, can really pass well (which he showed last year), and defends.  He doesn't have much range and can't elevate, but he is ten times the player Gardner is right now.  (Not saying that Gardner can't improve.)

I really wish it would have worked out.  He'd play a major role on this team.

10x the player gardener is??  whoa, now that's gonna get some debate. probably should start a new topic-you first, but you better get ready for the fur to fly. as for sultans question of why this is still being talked about?  because it's a great topic. good stuff comes out.  you don't have to read any of it, or participate.  just move on, nothingto see here.

I would argue Gardner has shown more instant offensive ability than Maymon did, especially playing inside where Maymon was.  Maymon is a better defender at this point, but passing, I think Gardner is his equal.  He has great vision, that pass to Crowder last night was a phenomenal example.

Don't get me wrong, I was very excited when Buzz landed the kid because I was hopeful Buzz could make it work with the Maymons.  Unfortunately his father (Tim) is such a cluster screw that it was not possible.  There's a reason why Crean, Ryan, etc stayed far away from this kid and his family.

dude, my apologies. not only do you keep good notes, but you also know where you left them-good for you, my bad-sorry.  chico is now my idol-you smelled something before the noise.  kinda like an sbd ;D

ChicosBailBonds

And to you sir, thank you for the apology.  A man with nuts, don't always see that around here too often.  There are a few others that have owed apologies, bet payments, etc that are still in absentia.

Stretchdeltsig

I don't understand why so much time is spent on a former player who quit on us.  Maymon was a 6'6 big who could not play out front handling the ball.  Gardner is 6'8-9" and will develop into a much better big for MU.
