Did anyone else hear the announcer say how brave Otule is because he was born with one eye?

What?

21Jumpstreet

Yeah, what the heck was that all about?

The same guy that said Crowder was going to the line as a 50% free throw shooter (he's actually 60%) and the same guy who later said DJO was tripped when he wasn't.  Go figure.

timinatorx3

I thought that guy sounded kinda like Jon Gruden. "This guy is courageous." "This guy has one eye." "That guy plays well for having only one eye." "This guy's one eye is pretty good!" etc.

Crazy...so was Gottfried, the guy who was the color guy for tonight's game.   ;)

Otule actually has 2 glass eyes

El Duderino

That was a great shot by the Walker kid with 4 seconds left because Otule was right there and missed by a hair getting at least a finger on the ball. Walker though put the shot up high enough on the glass to avoid it being blocked.

Otule has limitations as an overall player, but i've been impressed by his timing on attempting to block shots, that's not really a skill a coach can teach a kid.

Actually, you're both wrong. Crowder was shooting 57.1% from the line entering tonights game.

Yeah, blocking shots is impossible to teach.  Probably should concentrate on free throws.

I was rounding my friend...which I assumed Gottfried was doing as well.  He was closer to 60% than 50%, which was Gottfried's number.  I'm guessing he's even closer now to 60% but I don't have the energy to look it up.

His error was a 7% one that deserves mockery in multiple threads. Your 3% error wasn't an error at all. LOL

No need to guess or spend lots of energy trying to figure if a 57% free throw shooter's percentage improves when he makes 2 of 2. It ALWAYS does :D

77ncaachamps

Otule wheeling around to block with his right took some time.

Kids these days need to learn to block with BOTH hands.

For this team, its more important that Otule has two balls.

He had no problem with Jae launching a 3 on the possession before, but heaven help us that he then had to shoot some free throws.  Makes no sense.

bilsu

I told you guys before that he is virtually blind in one eye and that is why he has trouble catching the ball. Nobody believed me. They said that when they recruited him.

No. You were wrong before, you are wrong again.

Chris has ptosis. It is a condition where his eyelid is droopy and can cause a lazy eye. He is not blind in the eye.

Even if he was blind in one eye, it would have no effect catching a ball.

Well, you know, except for that whole depth perception thing that requires two eyes.

It doesn't actually. I only have one eye after going blind in one due to a detached retina. It takes time to get used to it, but I still play sports.

With only one eye, you lose the ability of binocular depth perception. However, with one eye you still have monocular perception.

I did find out last week that 3D movies don't work though.
