By the way, does anyone know what happened to Ari Gold?  I saw him when I looked up the old Vandy thread and he used to be a pretty prolific poster.

Don't know if it was the last time, but we beat them in the second round (then Sweet Sixteen) of the '74 tournament.

His son was in my class at high school. He was an incredible, honest and very decent man. I grew up on his newspaper and my first sniff of journalism came because of his work. Incidentally, he had the crap beaten out of him during the Freedom Riders efforts through Alabama. He was close to Bobby Kennedy and when he aided a woman being beaten by some southern rednecks, he was clubbed with a lead pipe.

Oh, he also was editorial director of USA Today from its launch through the 2000s.
