Let's have everyone go on record right now..with their forecast.  List your prediction.

Mine is NCAA.

Ners, do everyone a favor and pull this garbage.

It is lame, badly timed and not what anyone needs right now.

Not lame at all.  Thanks for playing "What people should and shouldn't talk about."

Who is our next contestant?

NCAA

I believe the team will be far better in February then now.

Keep in mind that there are also 4 extra spots in the tourney this year.

Mods, Delete me please. 8/26/2020

NIT.   No quality wins out of conference will be a killer.

nomorebuycks

Can't shoot.

Can't rebound.

NIT.

Not sure why you feel this way...think it is actually quite relevant right now...as many seem fairly convinced the team won't be very good this year.  Think it is interesting to see how the community is thinking.  Sorry Avenue..

I'm right there with you.  Maybe ten losses, but I think we sneak in in one of the final spots.  Mainly because we make it to the Semi's in the Big East tournament.

From the Bracketology perspective. Joe Lunardi has us and Butler in the first four out. It was last updated on friday before our lose to the rodents.

We don't have a quality conference win, and I highly doubt that we can beat Vanderbilt on the road.  With such a poor non conference resume, we would have to get 11-12 Big East wins in order to have a shot.  I just don't see that happening.

Big East schedule looks a lot more brutal than when it first came out.  Six very tough road games, and we'll probably trip up against one of the "easier" ones as well (USF, SHU, Rutgers).  If we were an unbeatable home team we'd have a chance, but we'll probably drop a couple more at the BC like we do every year.  10-8 will be tough, and that will only be enough for the NCAA with a win over Vanderbilt and two in the BET.

NIT. And if DJO continues to slump, not even that.

Technically 3 extra spots....65 to 68.

Ners, this team has the ability to go to the NCAA if Buzz can get them to gel.  I have no doubt we will be better in February than mid December, the question will be if they make the jump in enough time.  My biggest concern is the lack of big strides in improvement thus far.  These are young guys, or inexperienced veterans and they seem without a strong leader right now.  Will that change?  If it doesn't, this is a NIT team.  If it does, they have a shot at the NCAAs but they need to get things modified soon.  The next two cupcakes won't show us a thing. I fully expect a Vandy loss, but what I'm looking for most in that game is improvement in areas of deficiency we currently have.

Talent screams NCAA.
Play screams NIT.

A long and deep NIT run will benefit this MU team.

This Web site is intended for people to share thoughts, opinions, observations, feelings and concerns about Marquette basketball.

That said, this poll and the surprising participation strike me as a cheap shot against those who represent Marquette on the basketball court.

I welcome almost all comments and opinions here, but this poll lacks all support and respect for our team.

To me, this poll is insulting and unnecessary. It stinks.

I dont understand why you think that?  We cant all vote and share our predictions at this point without disrespecting our team?  Why not?

????

I don't know how you get there.  It's a poll asking where people think MU will end up at basically the 1/3 point of the season.  How is it insulting?

Sticking to what I posted several weeks ago:

"Hope I'm wrong, but I think theses guys have been really overated.

Crowder - Disapointingly  soft
Blue- No offense
Caudigan- so-so. Not that talented
Buycks- Nuff said
Butler- Can't do it all. Doesn't seemed to have steped up off last year.
DJO- really inconsistent.

Team can't shoot, can't rebound, mediocre on free throws, soft on defense, and certainly doesn't hustle like last year.

Hope I'm wrong but hello NIT. "

Hmmm. Not to worry. Next year we will have 7 top players on the roster. There is always next year.

I don't really see how this poll is any different than making pre-season predictions or pre-game predictions. We're 10 games into a 30-game regular season. It seems like as good a time as any to have a poll like this. If MU was 10-0 with wins over Duke, K-State and Wisco, the season would obviously look very, very different. As it stands, MU is 7-3 with losses to the 3 non-cupcakes that they've played and had unimpressive performances against some weaker teams.

I think it would be interesting to have another poll 20 games into the season, which would also be almost half way into the conf schedule. Things could definitely change a lot between now and then.

Personally, I think MU looks and plays like an NIT team right now. I really, really hope I'm wrong but that's just how I feel based on what I've seen through 10 games. That doesn't mean that I'm ready to give up on the season.
