Marquette legend Hank Raymonds, a successful coach and administrator at the University, passed away early Monday morning after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

RIP Hank...

Thank you for your contributions to Marquette, the city of Milwaukee, and to all the young boys you turned into men.

Not many can say that Hank was the Head Coach for all four of their years at Marquette.  He was the only coach that I ever knew and as an NROTC Midshipmen he shared room with us in his gym.  A real gentleman.  Rest in Peace, Coach.

Skatastrophy

He'd been in a hospice for the last week or so, so at least his family had time to prepare.

RIP Coach :(

A legend in the MU basketball family. A great man and a great Catholic. God rest him.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

A sad day for Marquette and his family.

Hank Raymonds and Al McGuire are reunited now in heaven.

Former MU basketball coach Hank Raymonds dies

Henry “Hank” Raymonds was perhaps best known for the 126 wins he compiled as head men’s basketball coach at Marquette University, and before that for serving as Al McGuire’s top assistant during the team’s NCAA championship run in the late 1970s.

RIP Hank...truly a sad day for Marquette. He will always be remembered well.

Just heard it on the wire. Unfortunately Hank will never have a court named after him, but his contributions to the university and to the team were just as important as Al's in my opinion.

RIP Hank

Took this photo with my 12 year old son a few weeks back when we were in Milwaukee.  Explained to him that Mr. Raymonds was in the battle for his life.  Wonderful man, terrific human being.

Rosiak article says it best: "Humanity and grace." Personified. We're all better alumni and fans for Hank's enduring influence.

thanooj

just wanted to mention the "Heiny Kick".  My mom loved watching Hank with his rolled up program in hand pump his fist and do a little kick when MU made a good play.

Rest in Peace.

Hank was the head coach for all 5 years I was at MU.  Hank was a good man, god bless him.  RIP.  Had 3rd row seats behind bench as freshman.  (Student tickets were dispersed though out the crowd back then)  Loved the banter during the games.  Hank got very "colorful" often.

To Sir Warrior---Like the Plaid pants of Majerus on that pic. Ric looked a little lighter then. Hank and Al made quite a team in their day. The wild and calm. As Al mentioned Hank did all the X's and O's for him. A REAL GENTLEMAN.
