Only when it comes to your old lady, bro.

Everyone's already taken their official with her.  She's like a public school.

One is paid for by school, one is not.  One is counted against your limited number of total capped visits, the other is not.

How many official visits (capped) does MU bball have?

-just a question- how does the ncca determine official visits? per sport? per team? per # of scholarships available?

The "average fan" is an idiot.

Annually, we have a maximum of 12 officials for basketball.  That is specific to basketball (for example, when we have a football team again, there is a max of 56 [although you can also carryforward up to six unused visits for one year]... for baseball, 25)...

Just trying to think.. and maybe I'm blanking here, but I think we've only had 1 official visitor this year so far.

Also.. in basketball I believe that if your goofy DB head coach runs out of town in the middle of the night like a punk, your maximum is increased up to 15 for a year if the previous coach had already used 9 or more...

So when Majerus did this, we got 15 visits for Dukiet?   And when KO did it, Mike Deane got 15?  Didn't seem to help those guys.  Fortunately, seems to have worked well for Buzz when TC did it.

Chicos, Jay Bees response was hilarious to everyone but you.  Man, you are a FunSucker.  Your defending of TC goes beyond anything reasonable.

Jay Bee- thanks for the response.

haha, Two more...

Does Women's Bball have the same maximum officials as Mens (15)?

How many visits does each recruit get? What if the recruit wanted to play football and basketball? could he essentially be allowed two official visits - one from the bball team and one from the football team?

(just in case i get recruited for mens/womens bball and football all at the same time  ;D) haha

Thanks again.

Careful ... your real first name could soon be "exposed" for all to see.
Assuming, that is, your real name isn't Mu Rara. Though it it were, that would be awesome. Well played, Mr. and Mrs. Rara.

No real news, but heres an article from a Maryland blog.

http://www.testudotimes.com/2010/9/27/1715938/24-hours-out-on-obryant-faust-visits-still-no-news

One thing I'm glad about is that MU has a lot more options than MD. If we don't get Faust, we could get Anderson, either Harrison, etc. and it wouldn't be a huge dropoff.

It seems like if they get Faust, everything will be great. If not, mass panic. I'm not sure why MD wouldn't have just as many top100 wings strongly considering them as MU does. Maybe they actually do, but it sure seems like they're putting all their eggs in the Nick Faust basket.

On a side note, Nick Faust is very babyfaced and looks like he still has some growing/maturing to do physically. That makes me even more excited, as maybe he ends up a super-skilled 6'7 shooting guard, ala Evan Turner.

Now there's wishful thinking....maybe we'll land a future 2nd overall pick in the NBA draft.  I'm not saying its impossible, but, as Chris Carter would say:  C'Mon Man

Good!  I'm glad he went the football game, to see that half-empty stadium.

I don't think he can find me.  My first name is actually the egyptian hieroglyphic for water, and my last is the Egyptian sun god, squared.

All this just to hide my identity from Chicos.

I believe in the equal treatment of piling on...if it's so much fun to pile on one DB coach of ours that left, it should be triple the fun when three of them did it (or maybe 4.5 times the fun since Rick weighs as much as several human beings)

I wouldn't care or dream to know who you are.  When people get personal, then I get personal back.  When people send elicit emails, threatening emails, etc, etc....that takes things to whole new level and I will most certainly expose them.  I'm not aware of you doing any such thing so I think you have nothing to worry about.

I don't see how the comparison is off-base at all. Turner was actually rated lower as a hs senior than Faust is, and I see a lot of room for improvement in Faust's game. They are both highly skilled with diverse offensive games and long frames. Turner is 6'7, and I speculated that maybe Faust would grow from 6'5 to near Turner's height.

And I didn't say he'd be as good as Turner, just that Turner would be a good comparison. Now tell me again how thats such an off-base comparison? Just because Turner is really good?

There are certain exceptions and nuances throughout, but the general rule in basketball (both men's and women's) is a maximum of 12 official visits.  That is from the institution's perspective.

An institution may only allow a recruit one official visit - so, if one were to be a bball and football player, they could only visit once.

In addition, the general rule is 56 visits for football, 12 for basketball and 25 for baseball... for two sports prospective student-athletes, from the institution's perspective, football trumps basketball and basketball trumps baseball.. that is, if a guy is a prospective football and basketball player.. and visits, that is going to count against the 56 for football... if a guy is going to play basketball and baseball, the visit will count against the 12 for basketball... and, baseball trumps all other sports.

Of course, these rules relate to official visits, which again cannot be taken prior to the start of a kid's senior year.  So, if you're a tan DB jag that mostly goes after 14 and 15 year olds and who used to have a sociopath work for you, these rules are a moot point for the time being.

I won't pretend to know what kind of emails CD may have sent to you, or what the nature of his "getting personal" was, but if someone sends me threatening emails that I believe, I hardly think that using their first name on a message board is the answer. Honestly, it feels like more of the childish crap that seems to permeate this place from time to time. If a guy is honestly threatening you, take it to the proper authorities. Digging up his IP address, using his "name", all that just makes you look like a cross between an indignant child and a stalker, which really does very little to help your case and only furthers resentment against you.

I think that most of the time, you get a bad rap on here, Chicos, and you seem to be a pretty decent guy. But stuff like this is the reason you get that kind of reputation and continued treatment from other posters. You bring it on yourself, then try to claim the moral high ground when someone calls you out for being just as petty as the people you say are wronging you.

I don't know, I haven't been around here that long, but I moderate another message board that is made up of mostly 13-20 years olds, and it absolutely baffles me that on this site of what mostly seems to be grown men all united by a common purpose (love of MU basketball) people are more petty and childish than those children could ever be. I honestly feel a bit sorry for the mods on this site and the crap they have to put up with.

ChicosBailBonds

Brew...I didn't have to dig for his name, he had it right there on his profile in public for all to see.  You want childish, you should see what some people have done on this board and the other board to certain people, including trying to get them fired.  You think some of things I've done are wrong....hah, you should see the childish antics that some a_holes have tried to do against some posters.  There are some real F'd up people that take things WAY WAY too far.

Rara...I'm filled with humor every day.  There's no other way to get through life.
