Best and worst. I happened to be working at a large retailer in corporate when the infamous "marquette gold" name change happened. The buyers wanted to be the first to shelves with shirts and had  three different mock up tees made with the "marquette gold" name and logo. All have offcial ncaa license tags on them. They are the only licensed marquette "the gold" that I know exist, as the name changed back so quick the mock ups never went to production. The best was that I convinced the buyers to give me all three shirts which sit unused in a closet, tags still on.

That would actually be awesome to wear to a game.

Best:  Program from the Alumni game they used to hold back in the 1980s signed by Bo Ellis, Butch Lee, George Thompson, Dean Meminger, Bob Wolff and a whole lot more.

Worst:  T-Shirt from the Kevin O'Neill basketball camp signed by Joel Pogdozinski and Carl Hren.

Did they have a different logo for the Gold?

martyconlonontherun

Best: A sheet from a practice with a basketball court in the background for drawing plays. I got it from a manager and it reads
"To Wes and Jerel,
Best Wishes!
Dominic James"
It was the towards the end of the sophomore year when James was thinking about leaving. I matched the signature with another autograph of James

Worst: Tom Crean signed shirt. I didn't even ask at a picnic. He just came up and signed my shirt.

Found: My roommate gave me a tshirt he found at Value Village signed by Wade, Novak, and Diener.

so jealous.

One of these days, I'm going to make my own "Marquette Gold" t-shirt.  Of course, no Marquette Gold shirt is complete without Bricky on it.

That's one of the funniest, uniquest parts of one of the shirts.  Two of them have no logo, they just say "Marquette Gold"

Another says "The Marquette Gold" with some accent striping, and where a logo is supposed to go they have the old eagle logo.  I'm guessing they were waiting for a new official logo for the production versions but needed a placeholder.

Wade for President

Best: An autographed D-Wade bowling pin I got after sharing a lane with Dwyane for a few hours, during his charity event.  A close second is a pic I have with him, after I posed as a member of the media, and crashed a press conference @ his basketball camp.  No, I'm not a stalker...just a healthy man crush on #3.

Worst: There is no memorabilia  that encompasses MU hoops, that could be deemed bad.

Great/Interesting topic for the summer.

StillAWarrior

Best:  Final Four banner autographed by Wade.

Add me to the list that does not believe that there is any "worst" MU memorabilia (although I, too, have one of the National Marquette Day balls autographed by Crean (and Teri Mitchell!) -- count that if you must).

A friend has the "Marquette" stadium sign from Minneapolis in 2003.  Just walked up and took it after we beat Kentucky.  Took it over to the rally at the hotel and had every player and coach sign it.   I am so jealous.

Best: Plastic cap that has the Warriors logo on the top of it with Marquette Basketball on the side along with BEAT ND in big print, probably from the late 80's early 90's

Hey! made me go look for my 'painter's cap' with the "beat ND" in green on it, from the pep rally at the Hyatt before the game.  Can't find it!  So pissed.  Suspect my wife tossed it as she thinks I'm an 'OCD hoarder'.

For some who see nothing as qualifying for worst--- I invite a search of the MU spirit shop and see if you cant find an item there with the MU logo emblazoned on it that you wouldnt buy in a million years--or wish you hadnt bought, in the past.
I have a few truly dumb impulse purchases from there over the years gathering dust in the drawers/garage--lol...they are my "worst" and I was too embarrassed to admit I have an MUlogo  bottle opener somewhere here, and some MU baby booties my wife wouldnt let me gift over to my granddaughter.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Damn Hou, you sound old enough to be a fossil.

Not good or bad but unusual:

Navy blue baseball cap that reads.....

Marquette
1995
NIT Finals

MUfan12

Best- Ticket stub and program from Minneapolis regional. Still have all the original newspapers from the Final Four run. Framed some large pictures from that year as well, those are hanging in my living room. Also have a MU Warriors Christmas ornament, as well as an old MU-Miller Lite painter's cap.

Worst- Tom Crean bobblehead. And it's not close.

Really want to see a picture of this T

my best: Reversible MU basketball practice jersey, 2008-9 team signed ball, Al statue
Non MU basketball favorite memorabilia - MU Seal hanging that was part of of the Speech Building from 1924. Back has a short message detailing the history. References Dean Banzhalf, a Mr. Kallenberger and an unnamed Vice President who received this as a gift at Christmas of 1967

I get what you're saying, but I wasn't thinking of "merchandise" as being the same as "memorabilia."  I think of memorabilia as things like ticket stubs, autographs, or things you get in connection with games (e.g., free t-shirts, FF mardi gras beads, etc.).  There's plenty of merchandise that I would never consider buying.

I have an MU logo bottle opener that plays the fight song.  Love it.

My best memorablia is my autographed picture of Davante Gardner sitting next to my 25 pound grandson at the pro am.

Your MU-Miller Lite hat is awesome.

PuertoRicanNightmare

Best: A framed Marquette Warriors pennant, an image of which mu-rara uses for his avatar. Literally, the image is of my pennant.

Worst: A personalized autographed copy of "Coaching Team Basketball," a gift from my mother-in-law.

Litehouse

Best: an old yellow cushioned folding chair from the MECCA.
Runner-up: an original 1977 National Champions T-shirt
Worst: a golden eagle T-shirt someone gave me as a gift that I've never worn.

Rudy

Best:  I took the "Kentucky" sign off the wall of the Metrodome in Minneapolis in 2003 after the blowout. I flipped it upside down and wrote the score with a Sharpie as well as "Kentucky Goes Down!". Signed by the whole team. I also had Father Wilde sign it as well as any past player that was in the vicinity. Also got John Harris' brother's signature. I thought he was John at first and then realize he wasn't. I asked him to sign anyway. Great Day.

Best: Reuters pix of the MU Pittsburgh game in 2003. The photographer was a great guy and emailed them to me.

Best: Autographed Al Picture. Hands towards the sky.

Worst: MU Louisville pic with my friend (Louisville grad) and I after Jerry Smith woke up and hit two threes to win in the Bradley Center.

Worst: Disorderly conduct ticket based on a fight with some drunk UWGB fans after they beat us about 33 to 28. Started drinking with college pals way too early in the day.

Did you get the PM I sent you in response to yours?

It's not showing up in my outbox.

Thx

warriormom

Best:  T-shirt from 1977 Championship had the caricature pictures of the team on it....got 3/4 of the team to sign it.  I was a freshman.
Worst:  The head from a Tom Crean bobble head that we threw off our back porch that keeps showing up in odd places around our house.
