So Frozena will still be able to play this year? and by play I mean "play"

The Wild Rumpus will still be a walkon this year, as Singleton has to sit a year per transfer rules.  We might pull a second out of somewhere else though.
I'm like a turtle, sometimes I get run over by a semi.

Ain't that far away from Philly.

Apparently, anywhere in Pennsylvania is close to Philly...

I know this kid. Good student. good character, and an asset to any program. He was mistreated at highpoint after Lundy left so I would guess that he has great motivation to succeed. I forgot to mention that he is a pretty good baller.

Coatesville is an hour away from Philly. Not that far away.

Swing and a miss.

How did I miss?  Did I say it wasn't close to Philly?

Frozena gets his minutes cut into??

Not cool.

Let's DO WHAT IS RIGHT, HERE PEOPLE.    Frozena was mis-led.   Frozen A Exclusive, 10:00 tonight.

So he wants to be a starting point guard, and he's looking for a school closer to home.
Yep, sounds perfect for MU.

Yeah, sounds as if things may not have worked out as he hoped, and Buzz/Lundy may be doing him a bit of a favor, which might provide some benefit to MU as well. Although given Buzz's well documented, despicable track record, its probably safe to assume he promised him he would be the starting PG in 2011.

Buzz must not have told him about Cadougan and Smith.

I'm not positive that you're correct about this.  Does the transfer sit out rule really apply when the athlete walks -on at the new school?  I wold think not.
Modification: After rereading the MU press release, it seems that he will sit out this coming year.  In order to be a walkon.  Strange.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

But he's leaving a scholarship behind.  If you could leave a scholarship behind and walk on anywhere immediately, more guys would do that.

Yes he does. Obviously this is still a positive for MU as a walk on's role is as a practice player anyway. Obviously highly unlikely he would ever see the floor next year anyway, so they essentially will have him for 3 years.

Seriously, isn't the scholarship at least half the reason these guys play ball, so they can graduate without that college debt?

If he sits out this year and doesn't receive scholarships from MU, can he be recruited for another school next year?

I don't see why not.  I assume you're talking athletic scholarships only.

Might be best for both teams. Doesn't like any offers this year. Sits out a year playing against high caliber MU players in practice on a campus with good facilities. Then look for a schollie next year where he can actually play.

If you are referring to me, I was just saying it would be best for him if that happens. MU becomes know as a school that helps players, so it benefits them also. I was just basing this off of the article saying he wanted to play and start somewhere.

Interesting that a walk-on can register for the Pro Am and get his application in on time for summer school... :o

With freshman Jamail Jones already on campus for the first session of summer school, nearly all of the remaining 2010-11 recruits arrived in Milwaukee this weekend.

Jones has been joined by Vander Blue, Davante Gardner, Reggie Smith, Jamil Wilson and walk on Dave Singleton.  The group was quickly introduced to college life with a team meeting and the recruits have already participated in classes, tutoring sessions, workouts and photographs.

Singleton played two seasons at High Point University under current MU Director of Basketball Operations Bart Lundy.  He will sit out in 2010-11 and have two seasons of elibility left.

The only remaining member of Marquette's nationally ranked recruiting class not on campus as of yet is junior college transfer Jae Crowder.  The national player of the year will arrive in time for the start of the Fall semester.

"I wanted to be honest with him where he stood and what his role was going to be," Cherry said. "I am not mad at him, and I am not upset that he's upset because he was recruited to play a different role..."

"I didn't want a situation where he was upset in November, December, January next season and then had only one year to go somewhere else and play. I wanted him to go somewhere else and have two years left and still have a productive career."

Wait, did Cherry intend to Buzzcut Singleton or Crean him? ;)

Welcome to MU, Dave!
