Perhaps the NBA could start a league that would play during the summer. During this "league of the summer" rookies and players without contracts could show their skills.

As brewcity stated, Wes played with Sacto and Utah last summer. Not every team plays in each league (Vegas, Orlando, etc) over the summer. My understanding is that players who are not under contract are allowed to play for more than one team as long as those teams are not playing in the same league.

While it's not played during the summer, they do have such a league....the NBDL.

it's more of a bugs bunny thing, where he has to defend himself.

I don't think people should get too excited about the Bulls signing him. The Bucks for example will only keep their rookies off the roster and the rest are filler for the league.
This is more of an audition for the whole NBA. He is more likely to sign with someone else besides the Bulls since their are more opportunities. The name on the jersey are useless in summer league unless you are under contract.

McNeal really struggled at times when he had to do too much when leading a break away or creating shots with the clock winding down.  He was always an adequate defender and could knock down threes when wide open.  On these hypothetical super teams, which I am praying the Bulls become, McNeal might be a good piece.  Cheap, more mature at age 23 or 24 than others at the min, can stay in front of players, and can knock down a 3.  I would not count him out.  Chicago only has one guard on the roster right now.

Correct.

And the Orlando Summer League and Las Vegas Summer League only overlap for one day, I believe. That's one way how a player can play for more than one team this summer.

And he played a team low 1:57 today.

Looks like Pargo's getting some serious looks and play.
I hope Jerel can turn it up with the Bulls and they give him more opportunities to play.
