Milwaukee Summer Pro-Am Basketball league

Was posted a while back, but Jim Ganzer's (IWB) summer league is coming along very well.

Games start July 10th .. with a final 1 day championship at the Al.

The roster so far, has been posted .. looks like most current MU players, plus some grads.   TOMMY BRICE!

If this summer league, put together by Jim Ganzer, becomes an annual event (please, please, please), I can see it being a HUGE recruiting draw for each of the schools that participate.  What recruit would not welcome playing at this level of competition in the summers once they step foot on a college campus? 

Having the finals at the Al and with close to 100% participation by current MU players only gives more exposure to Marquette.  It is fairly clear Bo does not endorse the league, if I were a Badger fan the existence of this type of event with no representation might sicken me a bit.

The players register by themselves on the site and the teams will be formed after everyone signs in, so it's up to DJ to sign himself in on the website.

I was hoping Novak, Diener, Barro, James, and McNeal would be there but still an awesome lineup.

I think I've read that Novak and Diener were not going to participate due to not having a contract in the NBA yet, and don't want to risk injury. Also, Mcneal has been working with the Bobcats someone mentioned, so that might take the opportunity for him to play. I haven't heard anything on Barro or James. Also, there is still time for people to sign up I assume. The one I would be interested to see would be if Brandon Jennings joined if he is around Milwaukee this summer. I wouldn't be surprised if he would play, and I have seen him at the MU games during the day when the Bucks have one at night.

The Bucks aren't letting Jennings play in a controlled NBA summer league. I'll doubt they would be very happy if he played in this.

Vegas Summer League starts July 11...so I wonder if that impacts some players from participating...McNeal? Or will be play one day then leave? Or are the Bobcats going to Orlando to participate?

Nevermind...If Jerel's playing with Charlotte, the Orlando Summer League will LEAD INTO the Milwaukee Pro-Am.

This looks like it'll be pretty awesome...I hope there'll be online streaming or something...at the very least I'm sure IWB and Rosiak will keep us up to date with everything.

I peeped Trend Blackledge right quick to see how he's doin up in America's Hat...looks like he's tearin' it up, averaging almost 20-10 a game, good for him!

Something seems a little off here.  Wouldn't DJ be in touch with the Marquette staff?  I'm guessing the staff is promoting it if 11 of the 13 current players are signed up.  Have those 11 coincidentally signed themselves up without discussing it with anyone?  I doubt it.
