Last week the Question was ... SHOULD  Buzz Sign Another Player for the 2010 Class (meaning someone has to go)?

That poll - 59% of 134 said "Yes"

Now a week later I'm refining it slightly to ask ... Does Buzz Sign Another Player for the 2010 Class (meaning someone has to go)?

I voted no.

MUCrew

I also voted "No"

I do see we're in (includes being mentioned with and/or offered) with quite a few players for the 2010 class.  I may be jumping the gun here with my doubts, but the oversigning possibility just seems like a touchy subject to me.  I also feel that the there seems to be a handful of pieces that need to fall into place in order for the signing to happen successfully.

If Buzz does it, then great.  I hope everyone involved in the process is happy and respects the decision.  If not, I'm not going to lose sleep over it.  I just see that the chances of it happening are slim - PURE speculation on my part.

Where are the people who were predicting that we would sign a surprise big? Two weeks ago there were several preaching that.

Voted no last week, voting no this week. I think that if we can keep Otule and Mbao healthy, along with the addition of Crowder, Jones, and Blue, we should have enough quality and depth to be very competitive. I'd prefer us to stay true to our recruits and commitments. I respect Carson Desrosiers for sticking with his commitment to Wake, and I'd like to be able to have the same respect for Buzz and our players for doing the same.

I voted no . I believe when Buzz gives his word that is it

On one of his show's with Homer he said something like "I may sign 4 or 5 more guys."

radome

It is somewhat of a meaningless vote.  I am voting without knowledge (sort of like most Americans do, just vote because (fill in celebrity, party, union, church, newspaper, etc.)say so).  Is someone hurt, homesick, disappointed in playing time or something else?  Buzz probably does sign another if someone isn't going to be here and won't if everyone is returning.  I'd be pleased with a verbal or two for 2011.  So with a SWAG, I voted no.

The signing period last until mid-May.  Why don't you wait to crow until then?

willie warrior

Who is crowing? I hope we do sign a remaining good big.

Having said that, if we do sign somebody else, we will probably end up with another Guard, because after all, you can never have enough!

Refreshing to see commitment and loyalty, a commodity sorely lacking at Marquette two years ago.

More No than Yes responses? Really? I am not trying to insult anyone's intelligence, but it seems fairly obvious that Buzz is ACTIVELY recruiting for another committment in the 2010 class. I say this because of the prospects that have listed MU within the last month, and because the straight talk Buzz express has said it himself...

Knowing Buzz and his personality, extensive attention to detail, and passion with never "wasting" a minute let alone a day, do you think he would be traveling across the country looking at 2010 recruits if he did not have full intention of signing someone? I definitely do not think so

That said, I think the only way Buzz doesn't sign someone is if he cannot convince the guy(s) he wants to play for MU

Heh...ask Brett Roseboro about that.

According to the Scout board, all incomers will academically qualify if they finish out the year.  But Buzz is still recruiting, and there are a lot of bigs out there that we are in the mix for that have yet to commit.  (Dieng, Cathron, Gardner, Murphy)  Something is going on.

I'm voting yes.

I still think that Yous is not good enough to be a big man in the big east. So Buzz definetly should get another recruit.

brewcity77

I have seen nothing to indicate Yous can't cut it. He clearly needs to add 20-30 pounds, but from what I've heard, he's already in the weight room. He has the speed to run the floor, and definitely needs coaching, but there's no reason he can't develop into an 8 and 10 kind of guy. He was a freshman last year and only played in 10 games. Why not give him a look before we write him off.

Dawson Rental

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

4everwarriors

Bank it. 1 or more new recruits will commit to MU this signing period. Just sayin'.

Can't blame Taylor for going to Kansas. A dream school coming off a National Title? Easy choice for a teenager.

4everwarriors

I'm figuring Fillanderer was referring to the now departed former chief cook and bottle washer, Tommy Crean.

Common sense dictates we plan to add another player. Gardner took an official visit to MU; Dieng may take an official as well. Recruits can only make "x" number of trips. They're not going to visit a school that may have a scholarship available. We'll have at least one to give.

bilsu

I voted yes. Gardner was suppose to decide April 14th between South Florida and MU. He did not. I am thinking he wants to go to MU, but has to wait until who ever is thinking of leaving actually makes up his mind or Buzz is saying he is second in line to another recruit. That is just my gut feeling.
