I am not going to link it here, but you guys owe it to yourselves to go over to the scout board and check out IWB's story from the awards banquet.    The thread title is about life lessons.    Great stuff that makes one proud to be an MU alum and even prouder that we have the coach that we do.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Great story on the humanity of Buzz and his team.  After reading that article (and observing every other behavior), I hope we can keep Buzz here for as long as he wants to be here -and I hope that is a long time.  Pretty remarkable quote from Brad Autry -   "I would have crawled to Milwaukee to work for Buzz Williams, not because he can coach, but because of who he is as a person. Before we came out here we prayed with a man who is battling pancreatic cancer. Yesterday we prayed for a very young boy at the Mayo Clinic that is about to go through a terrifying surgery. That is who Buzz Williams is and what he is all about. He is about life, he is about people."
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

We got a special one in Buzz.  I couldn't be more proud having him as our coach.  Thanks for sharing!

Nice story.  Praying for Park the Shark as well.

I really appreciate how Buzz is always thinking of others.  It translates on the floor to unselfish play.  Great leader.

Stories like this are what make me so proud to have Buzz as our head coach. I don't know if he'll ever take us to the heights we have dreamed of since Al retired, but I can't help but feel like I will always hold my head high with Buzz Williams at the helm. I know that in this day and age coaches go where the money is, but I really feel like we got one of the rare exceptions. Great story, great coach, and truly a great man.

And of course, pulling for Park the Shark!

I've met Mike a few times at various MU scrimmages through the years, IIRC just last October too .. heard about his cancer last week and Buzz's calls.

Heartbreaking .. one day, you're anticipating a new season watching MU, the next, you've got a stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis and getting to see Jimmy Butler's senior season looks grim.

Carpe diem, boys.

Daniel

A genuine story about our Coach and our team and the humanity that is taught everyday.  And Park the Shark knows the whole MU community is behind him.  God bless.

The story brought tears to my eyes. Prayers for Park and thanks to Cottingham for hiring Buzz.

Warrior Forever

If Fran Fraschilla wants to know how Buzz gets this team to play so hard, forward him this story.

God bless the Warriors, God bless Buzz.

Sawsi

That story gave me the chills.  Wishing Park all the best!

All my prayers go out to "Park the shark"

Fantastic read on a Sunday

Through all of our news and media coverage of the negative things in the world, good to see people still doing fantastic things for others.  I still think that ESPN's "My Wish" should be a year long segment, not just for a week.

Amazing, simply amazing.

I know Buzz has said over and over that he's never meet someone with as pure a heart as Lazar, after reading that I think Buzz might be right there with him.

Anybody notice the food? Cucumber sandwiches and fruit kabobs?? God only knows who the caterer was. Had to be from the Bay Area.

The Caterer was The Velvet Thong of Provincetown.

Teaching Philosophy, we were discussing Einstein and his religious views... specifically his position on praying.

We started with this story to open class.  Worked wonders

It's actually the second story I have found on this site that I could bring into the classroom.. pretty soon and MUscoop might be writing my lesson plans!
