Terry Rand
« on: November 09, 2006, 10:12:33 PM »
Former Marquette basketball great Terry Rand will be recognized on Friday's ticket. A three-year letter winner from 1953-1956, he played under Jack Nagle and helped lead his team to 48 wins, including a trip to the NCAA Tournament during the 1954-55 season. In his third season, he was named an All-Catholic All-American after averaging 20.3 points per game (tenth most in a season in Marquette history) and 13.1 rebounds per game (sixth most in a season in Marquette history). Rand ranks 19th on the Marquette all-time scoring list with 1,309 points and is third on the all-time rebounding list with 978.

Here's the ticket:

Rand was great.  I wish we had a better team at the bottom of the stub than Hillsdale to honor him.

But in all fairness, Wade got Providence... so who's complaining?
Sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
