Convo starts and ends with DJO.

21Jumpstreet

Was going to say Joe, but after that unbelievable dunk by DJO, gotta go with him.

nyg

I know there will be votes for Fulce, he was my vote until DJO hit that 3 and then stuffed that rebound at end.  WOW

DJO started it and ended it tonight.   But thank you Joe Fulce.  11 points, 4 boards when Zar and Jimmy on bench.

DJO is SoG

DJO.

Distanced the lead early...his speed helped lead to TOs.

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

If Buzz can still walk upright after his double leap, he deserves serious consideration

DJO...but Buzz is a close second with his leaping skills on the bench...didn't know he could jump like that.

Fulce is starting to make some really nice contributions.

Tonight's game was incredible.  Huge win.

Statement game.  I think most thought Louisville was a better team than MU coming into tonight.

Marquette made it clear that it's not a close call.

They destroyed Louisville.  Stole their hearts.

Its DJO.  But how about honorable mention to Acker - he's playing the best ball of his career right now and is a huge part of the success of this team.

Nobody saying Acker?!

DJO seemed to disappear in the 2nd half until the last 2 minutes when it was out of reach. Yes, his start was awesome, but lil' Mo seemed solid throughout.

+1. Seeing Smith and Samuels pouting made my day. Samuels looked like he was going to cry for nearly the entire game. Eat crow Loserville. How sweet it is.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

I'm kind of leaning Fulce's way because he was instrumental in keeping a team that averages 78 ppg to 48 by stepping up big time in the first half when both LH & JB got in foul trouble.  This is the type of game when you look beyond the offensive stats because it was our DEFENSE that won the game.  (No disrespect to DJO intended!)

If the ESPN preliminary box score is correct, DJO was the leading rebounder of the game with 7.  That doesn't even consider he had nearly half as many points as the entire Louisville team.

too bad Buzz can't be the stud of the game, because the game plan he drew up (with the assistant coaches, of course) was ridiculous.

Great job all the way around! GO MARQUETTE!!!!

I have a feeling Buzz is going to be winning a lot of games against Pitino in the future.  Unless of course Pitino leaves UL...

Just looked at the box score.

The two players - DJO and Fulce - that people are mentioning actually have the "same production" per minute.

DJO: 22 points in 37 min
Fulce: 11 points in 18 min

Fulce is coming around almost exactly the same time that Butler did last year.  I don't think he'll be as good, but man do we need contributions like that down the stretch in the worst way!  I would give SOG to Fulce because when Hayward went out with two, I thought a five point halftime deficit was reasonable.  Turned out to be a ten point lead.  Then when Jimmy went out with three early, I thought the same thing again.  Turned out to be a TWENTY THREE point lead.  Fulce went out, and the 'ville went on an 8-0 run.  His plus-minus this game must be through the roof.  Anyone have that stat?

No complaints about DJO though, it was a toss-up between those two.

This seems like a really good analogy.  Joe has a great shot and can battle inside.  I loved his man-sized rebound, power dribble, put-back + 1.

#1 - DJO
#2 - The trainer who rubbed down Buzz's legs after his triple leap!

Just remember that Fulce was actually the more highly sought after recruit....Jimmy B was a bonus......Fulce may surprise us all in the days to come especially next year.

I don't think statsheet will have full game stats until tomorrow, but it should be on there.

If it weren't for Joe's knee surgeries we might only be starting two guards.  You can see Joe's confidence growing by leaps and bounds!  This team is growing up and peaking at the perfect time.  That's the result of good coaching!
