Really.  That's the most offensive thing you have read in this thread?

I think you need to recalibrate your offensive-meter.

MUfan12

That's MU Avenue's deal. Show outrage at the at times innocuous, and at other times only mildly offensive.

MUEng92, I wrote that the "guido" line is "one of the most outrageous comments I have ever read here. ..."

You have misquoted me badly.

MUfan12, my deal is what? To "show outrage at the at times innocuous, and at other times only mildly offensive."

I cannot even pretend that I understand what you have written.

DavantesInferno

"Post-game drinks at Porcini?" poster has been made.  Expect to see it being held by greenman.

MUEng92

I guess I just assumed by the way you commented that you were offended.  To be honest I am still not sure how a person wouldn't read it that way.  Oh well, sorry if you were offended by my assumption that you were offended.  On to more important things.

Louisville sucks but Pitino Syphers.

They keep taking signs. When should I bring out my "postgame drinks at porcinos"
sign?

Badgerhater920

Can anyone find a stat of the total minutes Lazar and Jimmy have been on the bench at the same time this year?

I made a sign that said "Pitino: Cash won't keep us quiet." Well enjoyed by the people around me in the student section, but it got taken away from me right after the intros. So did everyone else's in the SS. Boo Bradley Center or ESPNU or whoever it was.

Alright. Student here...I'm doing it. Also gonna leave in about a half hour to get good spot in line.

Watch out for the sign

Sign was made. Sign was brought to game. Sign was well displayed in first box of student section. Sign was prominently shown and liked by all in front box. Sign was flown during Louisville pre-game warm-ups. Sign was taken away immediately afterward, along with about 15 other signs.

I got an Al McGuire bighead out of the whole experience though so I'm happy.

Other signs taken away:

Two U of L players are in a car.  Who's Driving??  THE COPS!

I was standing in the row infront of you on the end

I saw that they were taking away signs very quickly so I waited until the second half to bring mine out.  Had mine up for maybe 30 seconds at best until the BC security guards tried to take it away.  They told me Marquette said no signs allowed at the game.  I doubt this however considering the guy told me to let him see the sign and then told me I couldn't have it (I had the "Post-game drinks @ Porcini?" sign".  I tried to make the argument that a sign and a big-noggin were pretty much the same thing except mine was actually funny. He told me to talk to Marquette about it tomorrow.  I'm also confused about them taking my sign away considering when I walked in the ticket-scanner told me to get my sign checked by some guy (he had a Marquette shirt on) and he told me I was fine and to move along.  I just hope they don't take away our signs on Saturday.

Skatastrophy, you have referred to the guy in this photograph as a "guido."

This does not strike you and others here as an ethnic slur that is blatantly derogatory, especially among a group of educated men and women.

"Someone with photoshop skills needs to put Pitino's head on the body of this other guido."

That is one of the most outrageous comments I have ever read here, especially given that it has not generated a single objection.

I usually assume that you're comments are feigned outrage, so I ignore them.  Since you're attacking an innocuous post (again) I'll give a brief explanation.

Guido stopped being an offensive term 3+ months ago when a TV show called "Jersey Shore" came out on MTV.  Now I'll agree that if I were in a verbal altercation with an Italian American I wouldn't call them guido because it could be hurtful in that instance.  Conversely, using the term as a tongue-in-cheek reference to popular culture is widely accepted.

Now, please don't "whack" me or fashion me a pair of concrete boots over a little mix up, mkay?  :P
