Coaching carousel starting already?

Seeing Marquette Golden Eagles coach Tom Crean mentioned as a candidate for other jobs in the off-season has become a yearly routine in April and May.

But those rumors have always involved college jobs.

That changed Friday when a two-sentence blurb appeared in the St. Paul Pioneer Press that suggested Crean was being rumored as a possible candidate to replace Pat Riley as coach of the Miami Heat.

The star of the Heat, of course, is former MU great Dwyane Wade.

Crean didn't skip a beat when asked about it on Friday night.

"What was that in?" Crean asked. "Didn't see that. Must mean we're recruiting somebody in Minnesota."

talk about thinking on your feet..

hmm.. wonder if he said the "recruiting somebody in Minnesota" part tongue-in-cheek ;)
