Last week at Cincy Acker had a dumb foul in the back court, this week DJO fouls Hazell on a 3 point shot, up by 5, with 20 seconds left.  We HAVE to make smarter decisions at the end of games.  Thank goodness we are starting to make free throws in the clutch or that would have been another we gave away...

not defending DJO, but that was an absolute miracle shot by Hazell. After he hit the first three late in OT to make it 78-74, I was screaming that they should foul him as soon as he touched the ball every time.

DJO's poise is a little hit or miss.  He had some turnovers too.  He will improve with time and 3 OT road games give him great experience.

Can anyone explain what he was doing at the end of regulation?  He was halfway between the 3 line and half court behind Hayward just standing there.  DJO's man is the one who came back to contest Lazar's 3 at the buzzer.  Would have been wide open otherwise.

Sometimes I get frustrated with DJO but I have to remember that this is his first year playing division 1 basketball and he will learn that every posession is critical especially in overtime. One thing that I love about him is that he never loses his confidence, he will definetly keep coming at you.

I agree 100%.  When a guy goes into the zone like that you're much better of making him try to make 3 consecutive free throws with time in between to lose concentration. When he was shooting those threes in OT, he was focused like a laser!  Of course, you have to make sure you're not giving the 3 pointer a chance to go in.  Better to foul him as soon as he touches the ball before he can start to shoot.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It's not like that was the most blatant foul in the world, either.

Agree 100% with this, and I'm a huge DJO fan.  I will say that driving layup he made toward the end of regulation, where he crossed the guy over at top of key - going from his left to right, spinning, and then finishing on the left side of the rim as an unbelievably athletic and beautiful drive.  Shows his potential.  That said, there are times he seems to get himself in tough, non-leveraged positions as he drives and has to resort to a fade away, double clutch type layup that usually gets blocked.  But, as we know, he is only a sophomore.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Agree.  Barely got his elbow I believe...but shouldn't even give a reason for ref to make a call...
