Where's Hurley in all of this???

Almost two years ago Hurley was the hardheaded coach looking out for the best interest of his player, which meant he wanted Tyshawn to be released from his LOI to attend Kansas.  He talked about not wanting one of his players to end up in a situation where he didn't fit, and end up unhappy.

Where is Hurley now?

More than a few posters around here stated he would be over-recruited within two years.  They were right.  Taylor will either have to wait for an injury, be happy getting 15-20 mpg, or transfer.

Well then, it looks like Tyshawn and Hurley screwed the pooch on this one.....

Its really hard to argue that he made the "wrong" decision in going to Kansas.  That is where he wanted to go from the start.

He gets to play at a school that has a legit chance at a Final 4 every year...with this year being a serious contender for the National Title.

If they dont land one of the Elite 2010 PGs/SGs (Knight, Selby, Lamb)...He will be in line for significant minutes his JR and SR years.

It seems that most of those issues are of the good old fashion boys willl be boys.....fight over a girl, who's tougher than the next guy.  Been going on forever.  Unless there were drugs involved or stealing or something major like that, a fight seems pretty mellow to me.  Maybe there was another incident I'm not aware of.

Anyhow, if he's happier getting limited PT at Kansas than a starring role at Marquette or somewhere else, there's nothing wrong with that. Bobby Frasor was smart enough to know he'd be recruited over at UNC, and he went there anyhow because it was a "dream" school.
That said, Taylor comes off at best as being pretty naive if he believed he was a lock to be a four-year starter and primary option at KU.

If I was TT, I'd look at it this way: I'm at KU. I can WIN a championship here. It may not be about ME but when "One Shining Moment" begins playing and I'm crying, I'll remember why I'm here...

I fail to see how we can have off court issues if 3 of the 4 people you reference aren't part of the program.

Furthermore, just because you have some, doesn't me you should get more.

The kid is spoiled. He should be grateful for earning a scholarship to one of the greatest college basketball programs in the country.

Hurley should be blamed for enabling this kid. Self is completely right for being pissed--and so should be the fans.

Can you imagine a team with Maymon and TT? Let's hope he learns from this---I hope he doesn't transfer, and learns/respect his role.

Well let's be honest, the first two are instances are rumor and innuendo.  Don't claim they are facts, when the whole truth is not known.

Double standard????  A double standard would be if I supported the actions of the instances you listed, but then didn't support the actions of TT.  I don't think any MU fan was too happy to hear about the four instances you felt the need to bring up, and not wanting to add to that list is not a double standard.  Some might be crazy enough to call it learning from mistakes.  A double standard would be something like you posting a stupid comment, not owning up to it, and then blaming someone else for posting a stupid comment.

As Jason Whitlock wrote, this was not a "boys will be boys" and fighting over girls.  He equated it to two rival gangs, setting up a time and location for a fight.

Not politics.  Just stating the truth.  Acker is hear, but all we hear is rumor.  Maymon is gone.  Clark was never part of the program.  He was a committed recruit that would have been here starting in 2010-11.  I actually don't know who you are referencing in the fourth.

So...yeah we do have some off court issues as any program does.  But frankly your examples are an overreach.

Regardless, that doesn't mean we should actively seek additional players with proven off court issues.  Especially when such a player may not actually play very much with JC and VB in the backcourt.
