 DePaul just lost Koshwal for the better part of a month leaving them with....I have no idea. Rutgers has Mike Rosario and he may score a lot of points but his FG % is really bad, especially so far in the Big East season. He pretty much scores when the game is already over.

RUTGERS
Rosario
                                    FG's      FG%     3Pt's      3Pt %
Cincinnati          L 58-65    4 19     21.1      4-11       36.4
@West Virginia   L 52-86    4 14     28.6      1-3         33.3
@Providence      L 81-94    1 11     9.1        0-4        0.0
Syracuse           L 65-81    6 19     31.6      4-13       30.8

—What was shaping up as another down season in Rutgers got a whole lot worse last week when Gregory Echenique announced his intention to transfer.

*Echenique is the sixth player to leave the Rutgers program over the last two years.

DEPAUL

How bad is it for DePaul? The Blue Demons fired their coach and Chicago yawned. Nobody cares anymore. That's how far off the radar this program has fallen. If DePaul weren't in the Windy City, you could be sure the Big East would be looking to blow this team out of the conference.

Which team has less talent? I say DePaul because in most cases they have lost the second they walk into the gym. With an assistant coach running the show and many of the players probably uncertain on where they stand for next season (transferring?)

Can we bash these teams after we beat both of them. I am not saying they are better than MU, but I am still worrying about the "losing to someone they shouldn't" game that many on this board predicted would happen.
All it takes is Rosario to get hot for one game, lord knows he takes enough shots to do some damage.

 I guess I didn't mean for it to be bashing, that was not my intent. But if I were a supporter of either of these teams I was wondering of which team I would rather be a fan of currently and for the future. It will depend on DePauls support for there program, yet Rutgers is moving in the right direction.

I haven't seen Rutgers, but I can't believe they are worse than DePaul.  I was at the Providence-DePaul game last night and DePaul is as bad this year as any team I've seen in quite some time.  In the first half, they played with a lot of energy.  While that resulted in a good defensive effort, they were all over the place offensively, sloppy, unforced turnovers, badly missed some open shots.
When Providence had a run to start the 2nd half, DePaul's energy waned and it became a dunk contest.  After watching that game last night, I'd be surprised if DePaul won a BE game this year.  Even with Koshwal.

I was there last night too and I agree with just about all of your assessment of the game...they really did play an energized first half...played solid 'd' and crashed the offensive and defensive boards very well.

I go to a lot of their games bc my sister is in the athletic dept and my personal thoughts on DePaul are that their top 5 players CAN compete in the B-East.  Koshwal is a legit big man (when healthy), Walker is a more consistent version of DJO - he can shoot the lights out, Stovall is a very effective player on both ends of the floor (put up 30+ last night) who plays his heart out, Hill has potential and can create matchup problems at 6'10", Wallace has no offensive ability but he's an amazing athlete, Freeland is a promising frosh...etc etc

Basically their roster is comprised of 2-3 kids who can legitimately start in this league, 2-3 that could come off of the bench for other teams in the B-East, and the rest of their players are simply in over their heads...I don't like DePaul, but I do feel bad for those kids the way they keep getting run out of the gym the way they have...

I haven't seen them play this year, but are they as bad as Indiana was last year?

AlumKCof93

From what I saw last night, yes.  That may not be true if Koshwal was in, but they had a number of players that didn't seem to be ready for Big East play.  The defensive lapses in the 2nd half yesterday were unbelievable, and they have very little offensively.

They had 3 guys in street clothes...they're literally PLAYING two walk-ons...injuries have put them in a tough spot right now...

With Koshwal, they're better than IU last year; without him they probably lose to the tan man's '08/'09 team (unless the guards get hot from out)
