The Marquette University men's basketball team will be holding walk-on tryouts for the upcoming 2009-10 season on Wednesday, October 7 at 6 p.m. in the Al McGuire Center.

I'm guessing its just for extra bodies with Junior hurt. If I remember right they used to carry two like around the final four year. Also, Frozena and Brice were on the team at the same time.

Being short players due to injuries and what not it is always nice to have that extra body around even if it is only for practice purposes. Plus I think they hold try outs every year even if they really have no intention of needing a walk on. You never quite know when you might catch lightening in a bottle.

Right.  Last year they had tryouts as well and didn't take anyone.
