There's a combo banner for the 94 Great Midwest Championship and 97 C_USA tourney champs?  The team coached by Crean gets their own banner. Deane and O'Neil's championship teams share a banner that you can't even read.

Also, Great Alaska Shootout champs has their own banners?

I was so disappointed when the CBE banner was dropped. I had hoped we were a bigger program than that, hanging it with the scores on it is more or less hanging a banner that just says "Hey look! We beat Duke!"

Agreed.  I'd love them to redo the banners as follows:

BANNERS
1) all pre-season tournament victories
2) all confernece regular season championships
3) all confernece tournament chanpionships
4) NCAA successes (Championship, Runner Ups, Final Four, Elite Eight, Sweet 16)
5) 1977 NCAA Championship
6) 1970 NIT Championshp
7) All retired numbers/jerseys (including Al McGuire, the Apollo crew, etc.)

Then we can just add to these banners and can auction off the existing ones. (someone else's idea from a while ago, but I really liked it)

Well was the 2003 CUSA a regular season championship or tournament championship. I can't remember, and is the only thought I can think of for that. Besides are you really that upset that this bugs you every day of your life to post this? Relax, and watch the basketball game next time and not the banners....I do think though that the CBE should be put on the GAS banner for season tournament championships...maybe its a temporary one until we win next year in Maui....?

I like that idea. I'd like it even more if the banners were represenative of the actual jersey styles they wore.

How very "Carolina-like."  They have banners for each retired "jersey" fronted by a row of "jerseys" in a slightly different color with retired numbers (which require the player to be national player of the year).  Of course they also have banners for virtually every season with conference championships, tournament championships, NCAA appearances etc.  Then again, they do have the entire stadium to hang all those banners.

I particularly like the one that says "NCAA 1977 -- Runner Up" -- Got a picture of that one when I was there.

I would agree that 2003 is more impressive than the 1997 Tourney run, however 1994 was regular season too and thus should have equal billing with 2003 IMO.

Ah ok, I didn't know 1994 was also regular season, it'd make more since for those to be on one banner and have the conference tournament champions banner separate.

Actually, Crean gave the answer to this question in his show on Monday.

They are working on it for Saturday, but the banner / squares are going away.

Now, each guy will have a big jersey/number of his own displayed.  Not sure if that'll be finished this weekend, though.

I think that we will be in the CBE again in the next couple of years, and just like the GAS banner it will be updated with just the year wins.

They listed the teams on there so the banner didn't look so empty. If we win Maui I'll 100% garuantee you that there will be Maui banner started.
