7.  A "one-pot" dinner from my wife

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

I sure as heck am not a kid.  (I actually could run for President and honestly say I never took a puff of anything.  Had a beer or 20 from time to time, though)  A one-pot is when my wife just throws a whole bunch of stuff she finds in the kitchen in a pot and makes a stew.  Never the same twice and always delicious.

Easy on the dishes too!

1. Chicago White Sox (2005 being the greatest sports-related year of my life -- I'm sorry, but nothing can compare to watching your team for 162+ games, living and dying with them on a daily basis, and have them win it all)
2. Chicago Bears
3. Blogs, and the internet in general -- among my favorites are SouthSideSox, DeadSpin, and what the hey, MU Scoop  ;D
4. Chicago Blackhawks -- the national anthem at Hawks games is a special moment, EVERYBODY claps and cheers throughout the whole thing.  I really wish more 'stadiums' would imitate it, although they don't have to imitate the amount of fans usually in attendence at Hawks games.
5. Funny (or good) sitcoms, most notably The Office, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm
6. Bitching about Fox's awful job with the funniest series I've ever watched, Arrested Development
7. The Strokes, and my other music.
8. Marquette Basketball
9. XBox 360 (FIFA is golden, and a shout to Rainbow 6 and College Hoops)
10. Poker, mainly Hold-em
11. Everything about Chicago -- driving down Lake Shore on any given night, all the great pizza spots, all the great hot-dog/burger/beef places like Al's, Portillo's, Pop's, Mickey's, etc etc.
12. Chicago Bulls
13. (I can't believe none of you Chicago people have said this yet, although maybe I missed it...) 16-inch Softball and pickup basketball.
14. Rolling Rock

1. Peter Luger's Steakhouse... if you've been, you know. If not, get thee under the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn and revel in the reason cows are killed.

2. Marquette basketball

3. A new one for me since I'm coaching 1st graders, but watching their reactions when the extra pass leads to a basket has been the coolest thing for me.

4. Anything my 93-year-old grandmother cooks, because she's Italian and came over on the boat.

5. Jets football

6. Veal Cutlets... breaded and fried.... with some homemade garlic bread on the side.

7. Playing pickup basketball outdoors on sweltering summer nights until they kick you out of the park.

7a. Playing pickup on the "challenge courts" of the Helfaer Rec Center and occasionally mixing it up with the players.

8. Watching overtime playoff hockey either in person or on TV. Perhaps the greatest bloodletting in all of sports.

9. A crisp 2nd shot on any par-4 hole that reaches the green.

10. My job.

11. Guiliano's pizza (a moment of silence to remember)

Many people have said it, but the greatest thing in life is teaching a young kid something in sports, and he does it, and it works.  Their face is priceless, and brings you satisfaction, maybe thats why I am in the Education field

I'm too lazy/indecisive to compile my own list, but there are so many good suggestions here that I'll just say all of the above, minus those listed in my (I Hate ND) post.

But since I didn't see these listed,
-keeping score at a ballgame
-breaking 90

13. (I can't believe none of you Chicago people have said this yet, although maybe I missed it...) 16-inch Softball

I've had little to no interest in slowpitch softball in my area of residence since that game died around here about 10 years ago. If and when it comes back, I may just have to get back into decent enough shape to play it.

when I moved away from chi-town 3 years ago, dodgeball was all the rave.  I couldn't believe it when I saw listings for adult leagues forming... then I had some friends tell me they were in one and I was still shaking my head... course, had any of those leagues been in the nw suburbs I probably woulda signed up too! :)

The thing I most noticed is that there is not a single poster who is 100% compatible with me even when only sports are considered.  Good thing this isn't a dating site otherwise I'd want my money back... oh wait.. it's free.  :D
