Still nice recognition.  That's what I liked about the old 10+ draft rounds, you got a feel for how good the pros thought the players were even if you knew they were drafted too low to really make the team.

I suspect Boeheim's hand was forced by school administration after he was re-instated after his run-in early last season.  As far as your prediction, thats a cheap shot.
