So far we have Kentucky, Arizona, Alabama, Virginia, and Georgia open amongst the major BCS conference jobs.

Depending on who leaves for what, we might see some of these jobs open up too:

Memphis (Calipari):  mentioned with Kentucky, Arizona
Pitt (Dixon):  mentioned with Arizona
Louisville (Pitino):  mentioned with Arizona
Xavier (Miller):  mentioned with Pitt if Dixon leaves
Minnesota (Tubby):  mentioned with Arizona, Virginia
Michigan State (Izzo):  mentioned with Kentucky, Arizona
Florida (Donovan):  mentioned with Kentucky
Notre Dame (Brey):  mentioned with Virginia
Oklahoma State (Ford):  mentioned for Kentucky, might end up "swapping" jobs with Gillispie
NC State (Lowe):  may be let go for Gillispie
Villanova (Wright): mentioned with Kentucky
Oklahoma (Capel):  mentioned with Virginia, Georgia
Mizzou (Anderson):  mentioned with Georgia, Alabama
UConn (Calhoun):  may decide to hang it up due to age, health problems, and a potentially major NCAA investigation hanging over his head

And we thought the last several off-seasons were dizzying.  This could make 2003 (with UNC, Kansas, and UCLA all open) look calm.

how do you even begin to find all of that info?

Tom Crean's Tanning Bed

Some of it's assumed knowledge (the Miller-Pitt connection), but a lot of it is indeed pure speculation based on who's been mentioned where in the past or in the blogosphere this year.

If Tubby Smith goes to Virgnia or Arizona (unlikely), where does that leave Mwbake?

He's likely to resurface at Hamburger U. or the University of Phoenix.

Check that, he's getting his masters in sandwich artistry from Subway U.

i can't see Sean Miller going anywhere.  he didn't budge when IU called last year before crean.  He's getting a good chunk of change plus he has run of the program.  access to private jets for recruiting, and is in a decent sized city.  i see him like Mark Few at Gonzaga.  content, runnign a success midmajor that's viewed in the tops of the country, with goals still to reach.... a Final Four for each.

i always wonder why Jay Wright's name never comes up with coach openings.  i see Villanova as very similiar to Marquette in many many ways.  if Marquette's not really a destination spot, then i've never seen 'Nova as one either.

Wright's name has come up in the past, he was one of the ones offered the UK job before Gillispie, and he turned it down.

Nova may not be a destination job, but there's other factors in play.  Wright is from the Philadelphia area, he grew up wanting play for Nova(but wasn't good enough), he was an assistant at Nova and is married to a Nova alum.  There's a lot more that ties him to the school than your typical coach.

There are a few things Mu and Villanova are dissimilar in:

~~They are in the Final 4--we aren't.
~~They have much of their team back next year--we lost most of our firepower
~~They have a top 3 recruiting class to add to what they will have back next year--we do not
~~They have an excellent and experienced coach--we do not
~~They have been in the conference since the beginning--we just arrived. Power and stability helps!
~~They managed to get their first two tourney games in Philadelphia. We would never be that fortunate
~~It certainly appears that their program is ready to really take off--ours just came in for a rebuilding year
