Most Offensively Efficient MU Player
« on: March 25, 2009, 05:36:05 PM »
For the 08-09 season is...

Jimmy Butler.

Currently, Jimmy has the 4th best offensive efficiency of any player in D-1.

He has the 21st best turnover rate in the country, which plays a lot into it.

Butler also has the 85th best offensive rebounding rate in the country.

The kid hardly ever shot outside of 8 feet, needs to work on his jumper.

I think his jumper is fine -- he just needs to use it.  In Boise, I sat in on the open practice on Thursday, and started focusing Jimmy shooting 3s.  He must've hit more than a dozen in a row, rarely hitting anything more than the net.  Pretty stroke.

Tragically, his attempt to make his 13th in a row was a contested fallaway 3 with the shot clock expiring.    Damn, that 13 jinx got us again.

He was deferring to the Big Four the whole year.

I was hoping he'd be the proverbially indispensable 6th man who'd give us the scoring we'd need, but who knew he'd have to replace one of the big 4 this season.

I hope he asserts himself more and takes over some games. He's got the swagger of a champ.

He kinda looks like the rapper Birdman, albeit a younger version of him.
