We're not the only ones  losing a lot of talent......between what we have left and what is coming in we should fare okay.....I HOPE!!

HoopsMalone

Nova looks tough with a top recruiting class, especially if Scottie Reynolds stays.

Junior will have a tough time handling Johnny Flynn, so hopefully Flynn tears it up for Syracuse next weekend and enters the draft.  Plus, didn't Syracuse just get a new big man recruit?

Those two will be tough next year, otherwise I think most teams lose a lot like we do.

jaygall31

yeah, nova could very well be the pick to in this crazy league next year.

next year will be fun tho...kinda being the underdog the whole way. I mean we could have up to 3??? freshman starting...maybe?
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

nyg

Heres a start.  Take your pick.

CINN
Loses no one, very young with 4 freshman and 6 sophomores.  Yancy Gates is a stud.

CONN
Loses Adrian, Price, Austrie and Thabeet (he will enter draft).
Kemba Walker and Robinson return.

Depaul
Loses no one.  Koshwal is their player.

Georgetown
Loses Sapp.  Monroe is predicted top ten and will probably go.  Summers said he is returning, but turmoil brewing about GTIII style of play.  I see him leaving for draft.
Freeman, Wright and Clark return.

Louisville
Loses Terrence Williams, McGee and probably Clark.  Reloaded with recruits.

ND
Loses McAlarney, Hillesland, Zeller, and Ayers.  Harangody probably stays.

PITT
Loses Young, Fields, Biggs, Brown and at this point I say yes to Blair.  That is devastating losses for this team.  Plus, look for Univ of Arizona to make makor push for Coach Dixon.

Providence
Loses Xavier, Efejefu, McDermott, plus 4 other seniors.  Oh boy.

Rutgers
Loses Farmer.  Rosario is their stud.

Seton Hall
Loses Gause.  All others return, including Hazell.

USF
Loses Verdejo and 3 other seniors.  Dominique Jones is the star.

St. John's
Loses no one.  Whole team, to include Anthony Mason returns.

Syracuse
Loses Ongenaet and I say Flynn for sure.  His status has elevated him to high draft choice.

Villanova
Loses Clark, Anderson and Cunningham.  I believe Reynolds stays.  They reloaded with top three recruiting class.

WVA
Loses Ruoff.  All others return.

I think WVA with Ebanks, Flowers, Butler, Smith, Jones and Bryant are going to be dangerous.  If Cinn gets a PG, they will also be improved.

Providence, ND and Pitt are going to be hurting.

If Dixon goes to Arizona, then Sean Miller takes the Pitt job.

At that point, I'd like to see what Xavier does.

Nukem2

MU and Providence could be looking up at the BE standings next year (along with ND if Gody leaves).  Is this a reloading year or a rebuilding year for MU?  Will be very interesting to find out the answer to that question.

Although as a die-hard MU fan it will be hard seeing the 3 amigos move on, for the first time in a few years, as a fan, it's not a horrible feeling going in to a season with no overly huge expectations for the team/players...see what the new kids can do, see how Buzz Williams develops his own players, see how a young team responds in huge pressure situations/games against the top talent in the Big East & in some of the toughest venues in the country, etc.  That is not to say I don't expect success from Buzz, his staff, and the players...I don't care how young/new most of the players will be to the Big East/college.  An NCAA tournament birth would hopefully be termed a "success" for next season.

Kinda like going in to the 2005-2006 season with 3 freshmen starting along with a solid senior leader in Novak...next year that will be Hayward (although they obviously play different types of games).  That year ('05-'06), alot of Marquette fans didn't really know what all to expect.  Buzz's recruiting class next year is rated between #7-11 in the country from the various websites/"experts" I've looked up.  I don't know what all to expect, but hoping it will be fun to follow the team next season...I believe it will fun, and the team will be successful.

Norm

The Villanova recruiting class is scary good. According to the RSCI rankings (the one that combines all the recruiting service rankings), Villanova is bring in the following studs:

# 8 Dominic Cheek 6'6" WG
#20 Maalik Wayns 6'1" PG
#31 Isaiah Armwood 6'7" PF
#34 Mouphtaou Yarou 6'9 PF

Cheek and Wayans are McDonald All-Americans. That will bring Villanova's McDonald All-Americans to 5 next year: Cheek and Wayans, Taylor King, who transferred from Duke and sat out this year, and Scottie Reynolds and Corey Stokes.

For comparison, Marquette is bringing in the following players:

#39 Junior Cadougan 6'0" PG
#62 Erik Williams 6'7" WF
#68 Jeronne Maymon 6'6" PF
unranked Brett Roseboro 6'10 PF (considered a sleeper by many)
JUCO Dwight Buycks

The key to staying with the Novas and other BE teams (Louisville, UConn, Syracuse, Pitt, Georgetown, WVU) is to keep the recruiting going strong liek this year.

Nukem2

Nova also has frosh redshirt and former MU target Maurice Sutton (6'10") and well as Duke transfer Taylor King who is a deadeye trey shooter.  Watch out for Nova.

Rutgers
Loses Farmer.  Rosario is their stud.

Rumor is Corey Chandler wants out as well.  He supposedly said he wanted to transfer and then changed his mind, but it's not a done deal yet.

Quote
Seton Hall
Loses Gause.  All others return, including Hazell.

In addition to the returnees they also get Keon Lawrence and Herb Pope both of whom had to sit out as transfers.  Lawrence was a very good player at Missouri, part time starter, double figure scorer etc.  Pope is a former 5 star forward that bounced around prep schools before ending up at New Mexico State, but has lots of issues in the classroom and off the court.

Quote
St. John's
Loses no one.  Whole team, to include Anthony Mason returns.

The Johnnies have lost someone every year that Roberts has been coach.  Suffice to say the fans are not optimistic that everyone will return.

QuoteSyracuse
Loses Ongenaet and I say Flynn for sure.  His status has elevated him to high draft choice.

They also get Scoop Jardine back from the medical redshirt and Wesley Johnson is eligible after transferring from ISU.  Jardine was a starter after Devendorf got hurt and if he can keep his head on straight he'll be good.  Johnson is a flat out stud.

Warrior1969

Cuse - surprised no one mentioned they will also have the much talked about Riley.

Louisville - Hasn't Clarke already told Pitino he is leaving, and stated it publicly?  He is also in most lottery projections.

Marquette WILL get another talented player or two.

cheebs09

I heard that Cincy has a point guard who is really good, but he was hurt this year. I want to say that Cashmere was his first name. He was a freshman.

Cashmere Wright.  He tore his ACL in October.  He was technically a top 100 recruit, #93 in the RSCI despite not making the top 100 on HoopScoop, HoopMasters, Scout or USA Today.

*Crosses fingers that Junior can pull a miracle and swing Latavious Williams to Marquette*

dwaderoy2004

Take it for what it's worth, cause guys change their minds all the time, but Johnny Flynn was pretty adament over the weekend about returnign to Cuse:

"I'm coming back to Syracuse," he said. "That's it. I'm coming back to Syracuse. There is no 'as of right now.' I'm coming back to Syracuse. Yeah. I'm coming back to Syracuse."

Clark has already publicly declared he's leaving after this season. He was allowed to participate in U of L's Senior Night ceremonies, ala Jason Williams at Duke at the end of his junior year.
