.... "cuse NEVER had a lead in the first five OTs!  We might never see something like this again in the history of man.

Wow!!

I keep seeing that "12 big east records" were broken but never an actual list. Anybody seen one?

Couldn't find them but here are some highlights...

"The two teams played the longest college basketball game of the shot-clock era and the second-longest on record. Cincinnati and Bradley played a seven-overtime tilt in 1981 and there have been two other six-overtime outings on record -- Minnesota 59, Purdue 56 in 1955 and Niagara 88, Siena 81 in 1953.

The elapsed time of the game was three hours, 46 minutes. The game began at 9:36 p.m. March 12 and ended at 1:22 a.m. March 13.

It is the longest game in BIG EAST Championship history and the fifth multiple-OT game in tournament history. The previous long was the 1981 championshp game, when Syracuse defeated Villanova 83-80.

The combined score of 244 points shattered the previous BIG EAST tournament  record of 189 points (Villanova 96, Pittsburgh 93 in 2ot, March 4, 1998)."

# of shots in Gerry McNamara in the crowd, beating the previous record held by Kyle Mcalarney's mom and Mike Wilkerson's girlfriend.

That game was something else...Jonny Flynn is the toughest player in the BE.  Glad to have been fortunate enough to see it unfold at MSG.  BE Tourney is tough to beat....20 mins of hoops left.

Here are a couple of individual performances that fell just short of setting records:

-Syracuse guard Jonny Flynn was 16-of-16 from the free throw line. Flynn's 16 free throws made were one shy of the tournament record (17 - Alonzo Mourning, Georgetown vs. St. John's, 1992).

-Paul Harris' 22 rebounds stand as the third-best single-game total in BIG EAST Championship history.

I watched that entire game and was amazed how Syracuse just kept tying it up and sending it to another OT because they didn't ever lead in any of the first five OT's as you mentioned.  Harris missed so many bunnies in OT and the announcers kept commenting on it and Boeheim's reactions were classic.  Probably 5 or 6 of his 22 rebounds were on his own misses.  There was a lid on the basket.  As much as I despise Devendorf, I was pulling for 'cuse - I became a Jonny Flynn fan Thursday night.
