...February 10, 1979.

#9 Marquette 71, #5 Louisville 55

And two Top 10 teams have NEVER met at the BC.
The General has taken on a new command.

I find it hard to believe that of all the NCAA Tournament games that have been held at the BC that none ever included a Top 10 matchup...

Not from what I can tell, mainly because the Bradley Center has never hosted anything other than the first and second rounds.  We've had match-ups of 2 ranked teams during the tourney, just never 2 top 10 teams.
The General has taken on a new command.

Wow, 30 years!  That Lville team won it all the next year.  MU was a three seed out West, losing to DePaul in the Sweet 16.  DePaul finished third (they played a consolation game back then).  That was the Magic vs. Bird Championship year.

When's the last time MU played 3 top 10 teams in a week (might even be 3 top 5 teams), as they will do starting Wednesday?

When's the last time anyone played 3 top 10 teams in a week?

I'm not positive about the exact rankings at the time, but Rutgers went through a stretch earlier this year facing: UNC, Pitt, Uconn, and MU all within about a week to a week and a half.

WE ARE MARQUETTE!!!

That's right. UNC, UConn, and Pitt were over a span of 7 days for Rutgers and were ranked 1-2-3.

That's a lie. It is impossible for Marquette and DePaul to be successful at the same time!

Thanks General. That is an awesome tidbit. I have a couple friends going to their first MU game on Wednesday and emailed them that. I have a feeling that the BC will be the loudest it has ever been!

Even more importanat than Erin Andrews at the BC, does anybody know for sure if she will be wearing a thong?

And will there be signs?

Sadly, the thong will be in Madison that night watching on TV.  The thong likes to watch games on the floor.   ;D
