...the naysayers will now say MU still has yet to beat an NCAA tournament team on the road. Notre Dame is not an NCAA team. They'll lose at Pitt later this week and be 3-6 in conference, and 12-8 overall.

I'm not a naysayer, and I think the win was sweet as hell. Screw ND, way to go MU!

ErickJD08

I don't know about you but I will be cheering for ND when they play Pitt.  Its only going to help us.

The whole thing is kind of funny :)

If you look at our next game, if we beat Georgetown, they'll most likely be knocked out of the top 25. Here we'd be, halfway through the BE schedule, still without a marquee conference win (according to "them").

I figure just enjoy the ride. These guys are great fun to watch.

By the end of the season Notre Dame may still very well be an NCAA tournament team.  I wouldn't count the Irish out just yet.  Even a record of 8-10 in conference could be good enough this year.  It's irrelevant that Notre Dame is struggling.  A win in South Bend is a tremendous accomplishment and nothing will diminish this victory.  Marquette beat a team that's 20-2 over its last 22 Big East games.  Nothing more needs to be said about the quality of this win.

Hey, only 2 road teams have managed to win in the last 48 games in the Joyce Center, MU and UConn.  Regardless of ND's current status, that's still saying something.

I was thinking the same as all of you... with ND being under .500 how can we be crapped on in the morning.  Awesome game, YOUR MOVE LOUISVIVLLE!!!!

fixed.   ;D

If "they" can put a negative spin on it, I'll put my positive spin on it:  If we didn't beat them, four of the seven teams we played would have winning records and one would be .500.  Funny how Nova, WVU, at Providence, and at Notre Dame were all seen as tough challenges,  and we passed all of them, with three of them being ranked and one which would be 6-1 in conference if not for a huge comeback by us.  Look at it this way: there were NINE teams seen as highly competitive, tournament worthy teams just a couple weeks ago.  While they may still all be tournament worthy or close, that huge "elite group" has dwindled to four, all ranked in the top 8 in the country, and we're among them.  Not our fault that other teams are losing and we're not.

Fixed again.  They had a 10 game winning streak before we broke it the first time :)

ND is such a one-man team, I can't see how ND gives Pitt a game.  Blair not only neutralizes Shrek, Blair may be the better player.  Pitt has the advantage at every other position.

I'd like to think we helped start a new record -in-the-making at the Joyce center: how many losses in a row can they rack up there?

Anywayk, this was a sweet victory tonight.  Very very sweet.  Our guys deserved to win.

MR.HAYWARD

well then wat are "they saying" about the Providence win.  I could care less what "they" say.  3-0 in The BE on the road you cant "say" anything about that but ...3-0.  NDi sstill very good at home ...we are just better.  ND may not lose another home game this year.

sigep80

Let "them" keep talking.  We should win 5 out of the next 6, and be 12 - 1.  Keep talking.  This group of players, especially the big four, are just so focused, they are on a mission.

Go MU!!!!!!

That's not true. ND's a two-man team: Shrek and DoobieMac.

Because of DJ and Mo, they were a one-man team tonight. ;)

Completely disagree, you are underestimated the kind of defensive pressure Marquette puts on.  McAlrney is a good player, so is Jackson, and their role players can hit open shots.  Pitt cannot put on the kind of defensive pressure and will likely allow many more open looks.  Not saying ND will win, but they'll definitely play with them.

Badgerhater920

Weird to say - and I hate ND as much as the next MU fan - but I still hope it makes the tourney. Not gonna be easy; with that schedule ND could easily be 12-11 (3-9) in two weeks. However, more Big East teams dancing, the better.

You're getting WAAAY ahead of yourself. Let's just take care of business at home on Saturday and take it one game at a time. That's what Buzz would do! WWBD!!

Pitt's weakness is that they are not the same team without Blair on the court.  If he gets into foul trouble, ND has a great shot at winning.  If I were Brey, I would tell Gody to quit with the fade away 17 footers because they need to put Blair in a position to foul in every possession.

The key to ND is getting slowing down both Macalarney and T. Jackson.  ND has lost 4 in a row b/c Jackson been MIA.  Until he gets it going, ND will struggle as Macalarney can't create his own shot, he needs other players to perform to take the defensive focus on him.  And ND needs to be able to score b/c they are not a good defensive team.
