Not to open a site to bash the former coach but why would you not want to coach this crew until the seniors graduate?

It's Indiana. It's Indiana. Duh!

I don't miss him.

Some words you would never hear tonight under Crean.  Marquette really knows how to attack  a zone - Jay Bilas

Can some of the "process" peolpe give Buzz some love?

I did a double take when Bilas said that

I'll be the first to admit that the Domer's zone wasn't Syracuse or Louisville caliber, but MU tore it to shreds. Under TC our only hope against a zone was hot 3 point shooting. Kudos to Buzz and the staff.

I don't think Crean knew what the words "paint touches" meant!

Mods,

Can you configure the site so that anytime someone types in Crean, the post automatically gets deleted??  Enough with that guy already..... he's gone folks, get over it.

mviale

Better yet - maybe a google like search filter that flags any post that contains "zone", "tan", "pepsi" "its indiana, its indiana", "east carolina", any post with 4ever involved....

Since the thread was titled Crean just don't read it.  It gets old reading the same lecture to let it go time after time.
Fact is we never could attack the zone under Crean.  We all commented at the game tonight how well they did.

I am fully convinced that w/ TC at the helm this year, this team would have 2 or 3 losses. I don't think he would have pulled this win out and WV and Providence would have been close. Buzz's motion offense and lack of sets has these boys playing and performing up to their ability.

Wade for President

I'll tell you what.  I recently moved to Indianapolis, and I am constantly surrounded by the IU/Tom Crean media train down here(and the Hoosiers are terrrrrrrrrrible).

So...I for one, don't mind hearing a little slight to the former coach.  Sometimes a slight to TC, could just as well be interpreted as a praise to Buzz.

I liked Tom Crean when he was here.  No way would he have this team 7-0 in the Big East.  Good time for both to part ways.  We're infinitely better with Buzz.

End.  Of.  Story.

Crean did a ton for Marquette and we have to appreciate that.  He got us attention, got us into the Big East, and most importantly got the administration to spend money on basketball.  The Al, Crean's Courtyard, etc. are all big recruiting tools that he was instrumental in getting.  We all also knew that Crean was going to put in the time.  No one could accuse him of being lazy.

He did a ton for Marquette, was good in the community, and won a ton of games.  He was a product of Dwayne Wade's success as far as people thinking he was a good basketball coach, and I don't blame him for taking advantage of the opportunity presented to him.  He is a better fit there, and we have Buzz.

Perhaps you can draw a comparison to when the Bulls fired Doug Collins back in 89.  Collins coached the Bulls to the conference finals (yes, MJ and Scottie had a lot to do with it), and did a great job getting the franchise molded into a contender.  That was as far as they could take them.  They then hired a coach with little experience named Phil Jackson.

Crean lacks in game coaching savy, but we have to thank him for what he did for our school and team.  The guy did the best he could, and we are better off for having had him.

Crean is gone; Crean is gone. It's Indiana; it's Indiana.

Let's forget that Bozo. he shot out of town like he had a rocket strapped to his kielbasa. By the way--It's Indiana has not won a conference game yet.

GOOD RIDDANCE.

No doubt he got the program going again but call me crazy, I like coaches who can coach.
