Nick Williams with 10 pts, 6 boards...

39-22 It's Indiana, It's Indiana leading Michigan at the half.

All this tells me is that Michigan is really weak.  Go Gophers!

OK, forget this game, MU starts in 5 mins.  Go Warriors!

Generally regarded as a "Crean apologist," I must admit that I was not surprised when my close UofM friend sent me a text calling Crean "classless" for blowing off Beilein in the post game handshake. I never understood that part of Crean's make-up, nor did I appreciate it. I remember reading all the stories from around the conference and eventually, I wondered if there might be something to the "lack of class" allegation thrown at Crean.

Oh well. In the end, everyone has their quirks, and Crean was/is no exception. The guy did a lot of good for the program and he's not the first coach to act like that after losing a game. That said, I've always thought, you win with class and you lose with class. I am not so sure Crean ever subscribed to that theory.

I remember several posters here finding it classless when he did the same thing after the second time Louisville killed us last year.

I hope Chicos or SJS come to TC's defense quick, this thread is getting out of hand.

No need to defend the classless actions, if that's what happened with the handshake.  I wasn't watching the game so I don't know what happened.

Nevertheless, he's still the 2nd best coach in MU history (that really bothers some people for some reason), won the right way, graduated players, took us to a Final Four....I won't forget that stuff, even if he didn't have a beer with some folks at Turners or didn't play golf with them.   ;)

Can you blame crean? It must feel terrible to be outcoached in the 2nd half after building a 17 pt lead in the first half.  Talk about a Mulligan.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Agreed...can you imagine having a 20 point lead on a team that has lost 8 straight home conference games and then find you're only winning by 2 points with 36 seconds left, despite having a ranked team on the floor vs a vastly inferior team.

;)

It's college hoops, anything can happen.  Anyone that was there to watch Amoroso vs Louisville or KO's teams choke to Xavier or Notre Dame at home after monster leads knows that....yet KO is considered God around here by some and those KO teams had more talent then that IU team.

Therein lies the difference - glad Buzz has these guys hitting shots when they need to hit baskets.

Yes, because Buzz wills his players to shoot the ball better with a whisk of his magic wand.  ::)   I guess we'll never lose again because Buzz has the ability to have his guys "hit shots when they need to hit baskets".

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Buzz's team has vastly better players, vastly more experienced...nah, that wouldn't be the case.   ;D

Barry Switzer could coach this team....so far, I'm impressed very much by Buzz, he's doing the right things which says a lot to me.  Some guys would try to screw up this gift handed to him, but he hasn't.  Major applause thus far.  But we'll find out how good Buzz really is down the road, not this year, not next year (if Buzz gets us into the NCAAs next year MU should sign him to a lifetime contract) but in the cumulative years to follow.

Norm

Did Crean not shake Beilein's hand? Or was it just too quick for some people?  If he didn't even shake his hand, than that's no class. If he shook it but didn't stop to talk for a second, then I don't see how that's classless.

I'd take KO if I was picking #2 but TC did accomplish more...I have no problem with you calling him our 2nd best coach.

If he didn't shake his hand, that does suck.

No excuses for that one.

TC definitely was not and is not perfect.

Whatever.... more concerned about how Buzz handles himself.  TC represents IU, Buzz represents our alma mater.

i would agree if you mean he won with no class and lost with no class as well.

Then there should be no allegations of no class after the game on Crean's part. A quick handshake is still a handshake and much different than blowing it off.

IrwinFletcher

I am no Crean apologist, but he did shake Beiliens hand.  It was the same handshake we have seen in the past when Crean loses.  He walks quickly by the coach, shakes his hands and says little to nothing.  He shook his hand and that is fine.  I don't think he should be hammered for not sitting there and chatting it up after his team lost a great chance to win a game.

For some of us, TC still represents our alma mater....as does Buzz.

I searched last night on the Michigan boards and IU boards and I saw one post in total saying "nice hand shake" and that was it.  Again, I didn't watch it, I was busy watching MU play.  Sometimes the cameras don't catch things, sometimes they do.  In my opinion, you shake hands 100% of the time, all the time.  No questions asked.

mutpm

It was a quick handshake.  TC didn't stop moving while I shook Bielien's hand.  It wasn't friendly, but it also wasn't classless.  It was quick.  That's pretty similar to how it was when he was at MU.  When he loses, especially a tough loss, he's through the line pretty quick.  At MU, it was 50/50 or worse if he would come out and do the radio interview after a loss.  If he keeps that up at IU, fans may not hear him after a game until next season.

There was 1 post on the other 2 boards, and at least 6 about it on this board?!

We. Are. Obsessed.
