There was 1 post on the other 2 boards, and at least 6 about it on this board?!

We. Are. Obsessed.

Yup.  And since we're talking about "class", it was also here that we read about how his wife looks, her tastes in decorating (or his tastes), etc, etc.

It's funny those yelling classless and at the same time commiting the same violation.

By the way, I'm not excluding myself from that group....I do it as well.

(1) I've never have said anything about Tom Crean's hair, skin color or wife.

(2) My information from my disgruntled Michigan alumn friend was misleading. When he texted me that Crean "blew off" Beilein I took it as him not shaking Beilein's hand. After further review, there is irrefutable evidence to reverse the call on the field. Crean did in fact shake Beilein's hand, even though the shake was very curt and unfriendly (from a subjective basis).

(3) This is why rumors and misinformation are bad and I apologize for perpetuating it.

Cam...I know.  I wasn't saying you said those things.  There are others here, however, that continually call the guy classless and have made those types of classless comments.  Thus the irony.  I, also, have been guilty of classless comments at times.

Williams, the Alabama high school player of the year in 2006, committed to Crean's program at Marquette in 2006, a year before he could sign a letter of intent.

When Crean left the Milwaukee school last spring after nine seasons, Williams asked for and got his release from Marquette, which Crean had built into a Top 25 program.

"I felt this was the best for me because I [had] built a great relationship with these coaches," Williams said. "I knew the situation, but I didn't care because I knew I'd be getting better with a great coaching staff. We'll make something happen."

For now, the fans are applauding putbacks — the ones who are there. Assembly Hall no longer is selling out at 17,465.

"We're going to get back to where it's sold out, it's a monster ticket, to where the ticket brokers are making a heck of a living because of Indiana basketball," Crean said. "We'll get that back."

"I've tried different business books on turnarounds, but there's nothing that measures this," Crean said. "I have some good friends who stick with me and some I don't hear from. You stick with people close to you and you stick close to your staff."

Now, that is funny.  I agree with Chicos that he should get his due while at MU, but to be beatching about loyalty like he was the scorned lover is just reflective of why it was time to part ways.  He left MU like he shakes hands with opposing coaches.  I think he will be successful at IU, but I don't think he'll last the 10 years.

Matt Doherty anyone?

Matt Doherty anyone?

Matt was a head coach for one year at Notre Dame.

Crean proved it at 9 years at MU.

I think Crean does better than Doherty.

first of all let's not kid ourselves TC is no matt dougherty.  TCs a good coach and will turn around IU.  I don't think he'll win the NCAA title they're looking for but he'll be dancing in 3 years.

Now to my point...he acts likehes got such a rough gig.  So he has no players returning.  Big deal.  Was Cordell that important to what he did at MU?  Tc's not aboutjust getting to the NCAA he wants to get to the final four.  At MU he did that with 100% of his own players and it will be the same at iu. So what if it's rough for a year or two. We all know why.  IU is cutting him slack. Why Is he always whining?

Finally, 4ever are the friend who stopped calling?

Crean's never had a losing season so I'm sure he feels this is very rough.  He's a competitor, we all know that.  The guy doesn't like to lose and as such, he's feeling he has it rough.

$2.2-2.4 million/yr. should help him get through the roughness. ;D

He proved his ethics/morals through his actions.  I don't hate the man, or really even care about him, but I have no idea why some come to his rescue.  He did wonderful things for MU, but MU did amazing things for him.  I was totally disappointed in the way he left MU and I surely would waste my time trying to defend the guy.  It seemed like MU plateaued under him, and hopefully Buzz will take us to a higher level and remain committed to MU.  If not we try again.
