In my attempt to filter things for all connections Marquette, I encountered the German lyrics for "Silent Night" (Stille Nacht).

Can someone explain the meaning of "diener" in this line?

"Christ, in deiner Geburt!"

from

"Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht,
Gottes Sohn, o wie lacht
Lieb' aus deinem göttlichen Mund,
Da uns schlägt die rettende Stund'.
Christ, in deiner Geburt!
Christ, in deiner Geburt!"

Thank you in advance for satiating my curiosity.  ;)

Yeah, thats what high school German class taught me.  Probably not grammatically correct, but the message gets across.

I usually fling my sausage over my shoulder and carry it that way. Ziggy, on the other hand, doesn't have those problems. His is about the size of a postage stamp and fits in his wallet.

"Diener" as in Travis Diener, means "servant" in German.
