So we spent $800,000 (missed the first shot) to shoot down a $12 balloon on sight without knowing what it was about but allowed what we knew was a Chinese Spy Balloon to cross over waters off Alaska, the Alaskan tundra, parts of Canada and Montana all the way through S Carolina  (completing its mission) before taking it down. And some people think this is an example of a successful military/governmental action? Equal parts hilarious and sad.
