is this one good enough, or does it fall under "fake news?" The fact is our government has let our country down.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/12/politics/congress-outrage-testing-covid-19/index.html

As he left Thursday's briefing, GOP Rep. Mark Walker of North Carolina said there is "a growing frustration among members as a whole to get more definitive answers" from the administration about testing capabilities.

He said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention "struggled to give a really strong answer" on why the United States hasn't been able to duplicate testing that is being used in places such as South Korea.

It's like we shouldn't look to the government to solve our problems regardless of who's in power.  ::)

For a pandemic?  Yeah, I think even most of you weirdo libertarians would think this is one of those occasions where a national government should be ready.

Besides cutting off travel abroad and the private sector cancelling large scale events to slow the spread so that demand of care does not out scale the supply what else can be done?

You really arn't offering any solutions here comrade.

Education and preparedness.  Kind of hard to do though when CDC pandemic team was cut out of the picture during a budget slash for tax cuts.  It's alright though, I'm sure some billionaire philanthropist will save us.

So far.......yes.  You should read up and educate yourself.  It could be a lot worse, especially in China.

Actually a couple of them (China, South Korea) have it much more under control due to strong measures, including widespread testing, by the central government.

Testing. If we could find, isolate and treat all cases, it would stop the spread. Even macho guys that brag about going on with their daily lives. Wonder if they touch everything like the Jazz player did?

So you honestly think having more testing is having it "under control".  It's still spreading and it's still getting people sick.  Unless you are advocating for the government to forcibly quarantine people.  Those countries are also in much later stages that us.  We just got passed 1,000 confirmed cases yesterday for goodness sake.  The only thing we really can do is to slow this thing so that everyone doesn't get it at once.  So that the demand for medical care does not outpace supply.

That's not gonna stop the spread unless you are advocating for massive government intervention of everyone's lives.  It's better to just voluntarily quarantine ourselves.
