But Wes stuck as undrafted free agent because of everything other than his scoring.  His improvement in 3P% didn't come until after he stuck because of 1) his defense, 2) his steals (subset of defense) and 3) his hustle and willingness to hit the floor for loose balls.

I have no idea how Vander's defense has been in the D League.  Wes has a much bigger frame than Vander which I think allows him to be a lock down defender.  He is getting tons of accolades in Dallas for shutting down Durant in game 2 of the playoff series, not sure Vander could ever cover a guy lot Wes.
