Based on his speeches over the weekend and on Monday, have to wonder if the guy knew his days were numbered. He was as cryptic as they come, but incredible way to go out (both good and bad).

Any thoughts on how he passed?  To have that amount of energy for a final speech and then die is interesting.  I'm trying to think of an illness that doesn't sap the life out of you, but is terminal.

Put a lot of stuff in his body.  Another wrestler dies relatively early.  RIP, he was a great

Wasn't he the model for one of the options of keeping Warriors but droping the native american imagery way back when before they pulled the plug?

Pure guesses at this point. The guy talked about death a lot, so it's really hard to say, given the context of his speech Monday night. To just keel over in a parking lot, one would think heart attack, but that obviously isn't terminal where he would know his days are numbered.

Timing of it all is incredible.

Interesting if it was.  I always thought we could bring back the Warriors name as long we replaced the Indian logo with a different type of warrior.  The question is, would people be on board for that sacrifice?

I couldn't say when it happened other than it was before the name change.  I recall a poll with like five (5) different alternative Non-Native American sketches.  I recall the "Ulimate Warrior" sketch as receiving the most votes.  It obviously was a non-binding thing or maybe it was just the Marquette Tribune information surfing and the MU administration dismissed it?  Anyone else recall this sketch concept "vote" late 80's/early 90's?

The drug these guys pump into their bodies for decades has to just ravage their heart.

I was always a big warrior fan as a kid.  Wrestlemania 6 vs. Hogan was one of the best matches ever.

There was a year during my childhood where anytime I encountered a "velvet rope" or a rope of any manner between waist and chest height, I would go up to it and start shaking it violently up and down.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

+100

I had a t-shirt of the warrior and would tie florescent shoe laces around my arms when my brothers and I would have wrestling matches.  His music pumped me up as well as the energy he brought the arena.

The match against Hogan was epic.  How long did that last?  That was definitely a passing of the baton match, similar to when Hogan fought Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania.

There have been multiple threads about this.
Have some patience, FFS.

Was this guy the second Ultimate Warrior? I thought the old school 80s Ultimate Warrior also died, no?

I thought that was a rumor.  What I had heard was that the Ultimate Warrior didn't wear the black championship belt anymore, because Hulk Hogan buried it with the real ultimate warrior.  So..... this "new" ultimate warrior would parade around with different colored belts.  Common sense to me was that he liked bright colors and wanted the belt to match his garb.  Otherwise, it would be very hard to find someone who looked just like him and could wrestle.  Why would they do that?

I never thought much about it. Was just asking. It actually came to mind a few weeks ago when I read an article that Super Fly Jimmy Snuka was being investigated by a grand jury in the death of his girlfriend about 30 years ago. Sounds like ol Allenton, PA finally decided it was ok to investigate a wrestler without fear of the show moving out of the city.

Not a rumor at all, actually.  If you listen to D-Generation X's theme song backwards, the story is all there.  Moreover, as if that weren't subtle enough, the song was written by Paul McCartney, or rather "Paul McCartney."

The cullingan man told me that as a kid after he saw my Ultimate warrior poster on our basement wall.

Was this after he filled the water cooler in your mom's bedroom?

Are you sure he meant Culligan man?  He might have misspelled another word that is spelled with the letters 'c' 'u' 'n' 'i' 'l' 'g' and 's'.
