I've never seen him play, and I don't think highlight videos are enough to evaluate a player (for me anyways).

The jump from JUCO to D1 can be pretty big (depending upon the player). Even Jae had a lot of ups and downs his first year.

Jameel will have to earn his minutes through defense and rebounding... that's where Buzz pushes guys right away. I don't think they will be drawing up any plays for Jameel to show off his jump shot. Plenty of other scoring options on the roster right now.

If he can defend and rebound at a high level, his mobility should provide Buzz some more interesting line-up options. You might see even more hockey line changes this year.

No...the college 3 should be NO PROBLEM AT ALL for this kid. I can tell by his release. And once they get him in the weight room here his legs will be even stronger.

All I have to seen is the form... once you see that he can get elevation on the ball and how it hits the rim and the follow through and how the legs go up and come down that is all I have to see.

He seems under control and understands his body better and has big enough hands that he can get a grip on it and let it loft, roll off the fingertips and snap with the wrist...long fingers are key.

Jamil, Steve and Jameel are the same in that regard.
stop it.

Agree that we will have a great front line with Steve, Jamil, Jameel and Devante next year.  Jameel stated recently that he is 6'9 1/2".  If he can bulk up from working with Todd, we will have a great offensive rebounding team next year!

Here are some highlights from his sophmore season at Indian Hills Community College.

Looks very active around the hoop and appears to have a decent touch from outside. Looks devastating in the fast break as well. Obviously doesn't have the largest frame, but seems to make up for that lack of strength with excellent positioning and activity. Excited to have him in our frontcourt next year!

This is nothing. YouTube video means nothing to Scoopers.....at least that's what they said in Ferguson's case.

Let's save our overreactions for the Pro Am, where we can all agree that we have studs that have earned high levels of PT all the way down our roster.

No there you go right there....Juan will play because Juan is like Lockett in that Juan can guard. Plain and simple.

Steve Taylor will be a beast someday soon...Buzz can trot both of those guys out on the second unit and be just fine depending upon what he gets from JuJuan.

This team will be a delight for him to coach I am telling you that right now. It would be a delight for me if I could coach them so I know he is jacked up to get started to do that.

And if they buy in like this year's team did...look out. The Big East is not the only thing they can contend for.

Only if Jake Thomas gets more minutes, right? I was hoping you didn't join after your brilliant chat room contributions...

JMc stats last year. 23mpg  10.5 rpg  17.5ppg. Those are incredible numbers when you consider he played just over half games. In the last game of the season when the team played without most of their starters because of an altercation, Jameel stepped up with a 21 pt game and pulled down 16 boards. He went 8-14 from the field and 5-6 FT and 6 blocks.

The kids got a motor that doesn't stop and he's in love with MU. His length is Syracuse style but he does need weight. I hope he is spending every day in the weight room until the season starts. Great potential.

Thanks for posting this video.  YouTube can be very misleading tho, I can remember watching Juan Anderson YouTube highlights thinking he was going to be a stud of a small forward, although its still early in his career the highlight videos were very misleading.
